Luke 9:22-25

Whether we are grabbing what we need on our way out the door or packing for a long journey, what we carry reflects both who we are and where we are going. Yet the things we so often carry - our priorities, ambitions, anxieties, and attachments - can reveal lives at odds with following Christ. Jesus makes clear what His disciples are called to carry: their cross. For the cross is not an occasional burden but the daily mark and essential provision of those who belong to Christ, following the crucified Savior on the only road that leads to life.
