6. “Poseidon’s Call” - Day 2 solo travelogue on the importance of rest, ditching the guilt, and self-medicating with nature

Esplicito
Have you been struggling to rest? Not just to carve out the time for it but to mentally allow yourself to even get to this place where you can put down the armful of things you're carrying and turn some of that love and care towards yourself? As a society, we are bombarded with this idea that rest is lazy or unimportant or that we must constantly be doing something "productive." We put rest (ie. ourselves) at the bottom of these towering to-do lists and then we wonder why we feel so burned out all the time.Today's episode tackles this idea, as told from day 2 of my Florida travel adventures. In this one, I will touch on: How I literally changed the weather from Florida downpour to picturesque beach day How to "change the weather" of your internal experience (or at least turn a monsoon into a summer shower) The importance and true meaning of rest How to ditch the guilt that comes with rest and tap into your inner guidance Suggestions for easy ways to get your R&R (both with and without leaving the house) Nature as powerful medicine Tacos :)

5. “Now a little help for my friends” - Day 1 solo travelogue on doing hard things, building resilience, and learning to speak the many languages of what it means to be human

Let's face it: being human IS HARD. Like, really, really hard. We all struggle and when we're in the thick of it, we want just some respite, some way to weather those storms and know we're gonna be ok. Spoiler alert: you will. If you're having a hard time right now, press play on this one.I recently took a long solo weekend trip to the gulf coast of Florida in the pursuit of rest, as a way to weather the storm life has thrown me lately of just being human with the place I'm in. The next handful of episodes will be travelogue-style, filled with musings and lessons I was able to gather as part of my R&R, of this process of escaping into myself in a new place.Today's episode will cover: Dealing with the unexpected & surrendering Weathering the hard moments Making learning its own language Changing your inner critic and building your self-compassion Taking cues from nature & why we need the rain Inspiration and motivation to move through your tough days

4. "What is a heart but a house” - Moving after divorce, living by yourself, and making your heart a home

Esplicito
Sometimes when we reach a crossroads in life, we're hit with several things all at once and can so easily become overwhelmed. There is a grieving process. We have to learn to let go of what we had, what we used to know, who we were, in order to make space for the new. With healing, we continue to go back to gather ourselves, each time picking up the pieces and learning how to keep those safe, without holding on too tight to what they once meant, what they once signified. It is this gathering process that allows us to make space. That internal letting go eventually finds its way into the physical and before long, we're on the move. This week, I return after a long hiatus to explain where I've been: moving homes and moving lives. I discuss how to navigate life's big changes and what moving had in store for me, including the MANY mishaps that happened in the first two days. Topics I cover: What to expect with moving: how it may leave you exhausted and feeling like a blank space (without the catchy song) My experience with simultaneously buying and selling a home after divorce How to let go of people, places & things no longer serving you Working through grief and the importance of support and asking for help The "joy of home ownership" two days in (spoiler alert: MANY UNWANTED SURPRISES!) Tips and advice for moving

3. “Dearly Beloved” - How a spiritual awakening led to my divorce and why it was the best thing I could have done for myself

Esplicito
No one gets married thinking they will one day get divorced, but sometimes it's just what happens. Now that I'm on the other side of it, I'm finally able to open up - in depth - about my codependency and people pleasing that kept me in a relationship longer than I should, and the journey towards the monumental decision of finally leaving that 14 year relationship and getting a divorce. There's such a stigma around divorce and in this episode, I'm going to break it all down. Divorce does not have to be a thing to be terribly feared. Divorce can be a beautiful experience because of the lessons it brings, depending on the lens you view it through. It seems everyone will try to get you to stay but no one will encourage you to go when it’s honestly what you’ve been leaning towards but have been too ashamed to say (or even entertain as a thought). But the fact is, no one is going to grant that wish but you. It’s a hard truth to even come to if it’s been simmering somewhere in there. With this episode, I want to offer you a glimmer of hope and maybe a bit of that encouragement that you can do this (if you decide it's the right move). By telling my story and how things have been for me since the divorce and the immense growth and healing I have experienced, I hope that you too can find the strength to choose your "more" and chase your dreams, if divorce or a breakup has been hiding in the back of your mind.So if you are like I was, using the shower to drown out the sound of your own tears, crying silently after he’s fallen asleep, feeling the silence eating away at your being, slowly dissolving, wishing you felt things more deeply, asking yourself is this really all there is, wanting wanting wanting - maybe it really is time to leave. Or at the very least, allow yourself to explore those big feelings. None of them are shameful, despite what society, tradition or religion may say. It's your life, and you are absolutely entitled to a happy and fulfilling one.
