Let's draw a yellow submarine floating by an octopus's garden

Today I want to draw a Let's draw a yellow submarine floating by an octopus's garden. This is a Beatles inspired episode, indeed. We'll draw a yellow submarine in the ocean with windows. a periscope, and a captain. On the bottom of our under water song scene, we'll draw an octopus tending her garden. We'll talk about how The Beatles are artists used their imaginations to come up with songs. Here are 3 ideas your imagination can wonder about based on our drawing today: An octopus and a submarine have very different shapes; how are they both able to move around the water so well? The Beatles had some fun ideas for songs, where do you think they got their ideas? Have you ever made up a song? What would you want to sing about? Imagination Draw Along is an intentionally low stimulation show that gives artists space to develop confidence in decision making-- because there’s no wrong way to do art. Let's draw a monster truck jumping from a ramp

Today I want to draw a monster truck rally with a giant monster truck jumping from a ramp and flying through the air. The truck will fly over some squished cars. The driver will wear a big helmet. And artists will design and decorate the truck in any way you want. It's your artist's choice. Here are 3 ideas your imagination can wonder about based on our drawing today: Do you think it would be fun to drive a monster truck? Where do all those squished cars come from? Monster truck shows are where one big truck squishes smaller cars: how do you think this idea got started? Imagination Draw Along is an intentionally low stimulation, screen-free show that gives artists space to develop confidence in decision making-- because there’s no wrong way to do art. I hope it gives artist something to do with their hands and minds at the same time. At this stage, the best way to support this show is to subscribe or share it with your community. Let's draw a camping trip

Today I want to draw a camping trip. Today's picture will have a tent, a camp fire with logs around it, some s'mores and hot dog roasting sticks. We'll also have a water bucket for fire safety, a flashlight, and a book. We'll talk about how there's no electricity or iPads in the woods, just good company or family, friends, and nature. Here are 3 ideas your imagination can wonder about based on our drawing today: Smores are a sweet treat that usually have graham crackers, marshmallows, and chocolate. What would you put on a smore? If you were sleeping in your tent in the woods, what type of sounds do you think you would hear? Phones and iPads don’t usually work while camping-- what would you do for fun instead? Imagination Draw Along is an intentionally low stimulation and screen free show that gives artists space to develop confidence in decision making-- because there’s no wrong way to do art! And for even tinier artists...this show has been known to help babies fall asleep. ;) I love to hear from you and I love to see and share artist artwork! Let's draw a giraffe munching on leaves from a tree

Today I want to draw giraffes munching on leaves in a tree. Today's episode is extra special because it's the first time an artist has sent in an idea! Special thank you to artist Addy who came up with this idea. Today's picture will have big trees with lots of leaves, a tall giraffe with spots, and a few fun giraffe facts. Does your resident artist have an idea? Send it over to https://www.imaginationdrawalong.com/contact-us A tip on sending ideas - use a noun and verb combination, like a "giraffe munching" or "ants marching." It will help me get it right :) Here are 3 ideas your imagination can wonder about based on our drawing today: Giraffes eat 75 pounds of leaves every day - how? why? So many animals are different sizes and shapes - why are giraffes so tall? Baby giraffes are born standing up and ready to run -- what do you think is the first thing you did when you were born? Let's draw a basketball player jumping to make a basket

Today I want to draw a basketball player jumping up toward the net to make a basket. He or she will be very strong and you get to decide what their uniform colors are. I am feeling inspired by the Men's NBA Finals. I wonder if you are an artist as well as a basketball player or fan. Here are 3 ideas your imagination can wonder about based on our drawing today. Why do basketball players work hard to have strong bodies? If you wore a uniform like a basketball player, how can you still show off your individuality? Doing art feels good. Doing sports feels good. Why do art and sports feel so good? If you're looking for more sports episodes, check out drawing a baseball player at bat or a Paralympian on her snowboard. Let's draw a flag that represents YOU

Today I want to draw a flag that represents you, and all of your favorite things. We will draw a collage of our favorite things, including favorite color, food, weather, animal, game, and book. Our paper will become a flag, and each of our flags represent ourselves. This episode will include many artist choices because I bet we don't have the same favorite things. It's cool that we're all so different! If your artist wants to share their flag, find out how to share it on https://www.imaginationdrawalong.com/art-club-gallery Here are 3 ideas your imagination can wonder about based on our drawing today: Why do countries and communities use flags to represent themselves? If you could make up a country based on your YOU flag, what would your country be called? We drew a lot of favorite things today and all of our flags look different. Why do we all have different favorite things? Let's draw friendly aliens landing their spaceship

Today I want to draw a cool spaceship landing on earth, with two friendly aliens. Since I've never personally seen a spaceship or an alien, we will be using extra imagination to add details to a giant spaceship--in today's case flying saucer style. Then we will create 2 very wacky looking creatures who are visiting earth. We will also draw signs that these aliens have visited before! 🧠 Here are 3 ideas your imagination can wonder about based on our drawing today: Our aliens learned a lot about earth. What would you want to teach an alien? Do you think humans and aliens have a lot in common or not much? How can you make an alien feel welcome here on their visit? Let's draw a wedding scene

Today I want to draw a wedding scene, inspired by the wedding I am going to this weekend. We'll draw a bride and a groom, and some flowers to decorate. Your artist choice will be draw clothes to make the bride and groom feel fancy on their special day. In my culture, brides usually wear white and grooms wear a suit and tie or bow tie. If you prefer to dress your happy couple in lehengas and sherwanis, or any other attire that comes to mind, I hope you will draw those instead. 🧠 Here are 3 ideas your imagination can wonder about based on our drawing: Why do people dress fancy for weddings? Everyone’s culture or families have their own version of being dressed up-- how does your culture or family like to dress up? Why do you think your bride and groom you drew love each other so much? Let's draw a baseball player at bat

Today I want to draw a baseball player standing at home plate, holding his bat, ready to swing. You're in charge of designing his uniform and decorating his bat with your artist choices. We'll also draw the baseball coming his way! And the dugout, where he'll sit when it's not his turn to bat. Here are ideas your can wonder about based on our drawing today: Why do baseball players wear uniforms? How much practice does it take to be good at baseball or art? We talked about artist choices that only affect you or athletic choices that affect the people around you. Have you made an artist choice or athletic choice today? Imagination Draw Along is an intentionally low stimulation show that gives artists space to develop confidence in decision making-- because there’s no wrong way to do art. Let's draw a monarch butterfly's metamorphosis

Today I want to draw a monarch butterfly's metamorphosis. We'll fold our paper into four sections. In each section, we'll draw a part of the metamorphosis. This picture will have an egg laid on a milkweed plant, a caterpillar, a chrysalis, and finally a monarch butterfly. I'll let you know which colors appear in nature, but if you don't want to use those colors, that's your artist's choice. Imagination Draw Along is an intentionally calm space for artists to develop confidence in their decisions making skills by making artistic choices. It's a safe space because there is no wrong way to do art. Here are the three ideas your imagination can wonder about based on our picture: When larva pupates, or becomes a butterfly in the chrysalis, what do you think is happening in there? What stage of metamorphosis do you think would be the most fun: being an safe egg? being a hungry caterpillar? being a changing chrysalis? or being a flying butterfly? Larva eat milkweed leaves to grow big and strong. What foods make you feel big and strong?
