“What distinguishes Andrea Sodomka for me is her ability to constantly reinvent herself, to continually break new ground and explore her own boundaries. Her oeuvre ranges from painting to radio art, from photography to sound installation, from performing in large spaces with live electronics to making inner spaces audible. Her open approach to her own authorship is rooted in the tradition of working in artist networks. “Today, it’s taken for granted by young artists that the concept of authorship is dissolving because they grew up with the internet,” says Andrea Sodomka. Andrea Sodomka and alien productions, as pioneers of networking, practiced this form of communication and collaboration, incorporating the internet, in their art projects as early as the mid-1990s. Her music and her work cannot be easily categorized into labels such as composer or visual artist.
