Rick and his father discovered Bitcoin over 10 years ago and understood it's value almost immediately. Over the years they stacked and earned 25 Bitcoin but tragically lost it all when hackers compromised their home server, located their private keys, and stole everything. Rick and his father watched helplessly as the hackers obfuscated the on-chain trail of funds using mixers, Monero, and other money laundering strategies. Rick shares his cautionary tale which he hopes will serve as a wake-up call to Bitcoiners who's security may be lacking, like his was.

It's also an optimistic story. Rick and his father haven't lost their conviction in Bitcoin and have started over, and this time they're taking security much more seriously.
