Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT) occurs when a blood clot (thrombus) forms in one or more of the deep veins in your body, usually in your legs (calf or thigh) orthe pelvis. Deep vein thrombosis can cause leg pain or swelling but can also have no symptoms. DVT is a serious condition, but the good news is that awareness and simple lifestyle changes can make a big difference in prevention.
