God Still Speaks!

God Still Speaks!

In the World but Not of the World

What does it really mean to be in the world, but not of the world? As followers of Jesus, we are called to live differently—not out of fear, judgment, or a list of rules, but because our desire is to draw closer to God and live in a way that pleases Him. In this message, we talk about standing firm in God’s truth, resisting the pressure to simply go along with what everyone else is doing, and remembering that we are called to be a light and an example in the world around us. Being set apart doesn’t have to mean being confrontational. Sometimes it simply means knowing where you stand, drawing a line you will not cross, and choosing God’s way even when the world is moving in another direction.

How to Navigate Life's Distractions and Stay Close to God

Life is louder and more distracting than ever. Phones, social media, work, entertainment, constant notifications, and the pressure to stay connected can easily consume our attention—but God is still calling us to slow down, listen, and walk closely with Him. In this message, Terry shares practical ways to intentionally make room for God in everyday life, stay grounded in His Word, and turn ordinary moments—your morning, commute, exercise, or quiet time—into opportunities to strengthen your relationship with Him. “Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.” — Psalm 119:105 When the world gets noisy, we don't have to let it determine where our attention goes. We can reset, return to God, and allow Him to lead us through every distraction. 🌸 Visit God Still Speaks: https://god-still-speaks.web.app #GodStillSpeaks #ChristianLiving #StayCloseToGod #Faith #Jesus #BibleTeaching #ChristianEncouragement #Distractions #SpendTimeWithGod #HearingGod

Can You Outgive God?

Can you ever truly outgive God? Giving is about far more than money. We can give our time, talents, resources, encouragement, and whatever God has placed in our hands. In this episode of God Still Speaks, Terry Steffen explores what Scripture teaches about giving with a willing heart, trusting God with what we have, and recognizing His provision in our lives. God’s provision may not always look the way we expect or arrive on our timetable, but we can trust Him with what we give and with what we need. 📖 Scriptures referenced: John 3:16 Matthew 6:25–34 Malachi 3:10 🌿 Visit God Still Speaks: https://god-still-speaks.web.app 📚 Read The Matter of Being Single by Terry Steffen: https://www.amazon.com/Matter-Being-Single-Terry-Steffen-ebook/dp/B0GJLSKPDS

Do You Trust God? The Missing Piece in Hearing His Voice

Trust is one of the most important parts of our relationship with God. We may say we trust Him—but what happens when His direction doesn’t make sense, the circumstances feel uncomfortable, or life seems to be going sideways? In this episode of God Still Speaks!, we look at what Scripture teaches about trusting God more deeply. If we want to hear His voice and walk closely with Him, we have to trust not only who He is, but also what He says and where He leads. We’ll talk about how trust grows through experience, why peace and hope are connected to relying on God, and how every time we trust Him and see His faithfulness, we build a history with Him that strengthens our faith for the next step. Scriptures referenced include: Proverbs 3:5–6, Psalm 9:10, Psalm 33:4–6, Psalm 84:12, Isaiah 41:10, Isaiah 40:28–31, Romans 15:13, Proverbs 28:26, Proverbs 11:28, and Psalm 20:7. Trust Him when it makes sense. Trust Him when it doesn’t. Trust Him when it’s uncomfortable. And keep building your relationship with the God who has proven Himself faithful.

Can You Be a Christian and Still Struggle With Addiction?

Addiction often carries shame, secrecy, and the feeling that you should be able to overcome it on your own—especially when you love God and want to live differently. But addiction may be a symptom of something deeper, including unresolved hurt, trauma, and patterns that need healing. In this episode of God Still Speaks, Terry shares from her own experience with addiction and talks about bringing the struggle honestly before God instead of hiding from Him. This is not a message of condemnation. It is a message about God’s love, healing, freedom, and the possibility of being set free from the things that keep us bound. If you are struggling with addiction, or you love someone who is, this episode is meant to remind you that your struggle does not separate you from the love of God—and you do not have to stay stuck.

What is God Growing in Your Singleness?

In this episode of God Still Speaks!, Terry looks at John 15:1 and the picture of God as the husbandman—the One who tends, prunes, and cultivates. Singleness doesn’t mean your life is on hold. God can still be growing you, directing your steps, establishing the work of your hands, and preparing your heart while you wait. The episode closes with a prayer for anyone trusting God with this season and with the desire for a future partner. Scripture: John 15:1

A Call Every Believer Must Answer

God still speaks—but are we truly listening? In this episode of God Still Speaks!, we explore what it means to trust the Lord, recognize His direction, and be willing to respond when He calls. Proverbs 3:5–6 reminds us not to rely solely on our own understanding, but to acknowledge God and allow Him to direct our paths. Following His leading may require faith, obedience, patience, and the willingness to move even when we cannot see the entire road ahead. Every believer is called to listen for God’s direction and decide how they will respond. The question is not simply whether God is speaking, but whether our hearts are open and ready to follow Him. If you’ve been seeking direction, wrestling with a decision, or wondering what God may be asking of you, this message is an encouragement to trust Him and be willing to answer when He calls. Does Your Christian Life Feel Like a Smartphone Paperweight?

Are you experiencing everything God intended for your Christian life—or are you only using a small part of what He has given you? In this episode of God Still Speaks!, we use the picture of a smartphone being used as little more than a paperweight to consider how easily believers can settle into a limited version of the Christian life. God created you with intention. Your gifts, experiences, compassion, abilities, and opportunities can all become part of the work He wants to accomplish through you. But discovering that purpose often requires listening for His direction and being willing to respond when He leads. We’ll talk about recognizing the gifts God has placed within you, stepping beyond what is comfortable or familiar, and allowing obedience to open the door to a deeper and more purposeful walk with Him. If you’ve ever wondered whether there could be more to your Christian life, this message is an invitation to listen, seek, and discover how God may be calling you to use what He has already placed in your hands. “For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works…” — Ephesians 2:10
