For the fifth episode of our 2026 series, Jeremy and Onestraw’s Matt Sage spoke to ambient musician and composer claire rousay. From field recordings to intimate solo work to more collaborative efforts, claire is a prolific artist across multiple disciplines who creates avant-pop and dream-like textural compositions. Jeremy and Matt spoke to her about the creative process, her experience being on Thrill Jockey and the current state of what it means to be “independent.”
