"Who is master over us?"
That's not a line from an atheist.
In Psalm 12, it's coming out of the mouths of God's own people.
Pastor Tim opens a new stretch of the Psalms focused on spiritual formation. The psalmist cries out that the faithful have vanished. Not the religious, the faithful. People still call on God and still show up to church, but they speak with a "double heart," in the Hebrew literally a heart and a heart. One says what people want to hear. The other does whatever it wants.
Then God stands up and speaks. His words are pure, like silver refined seven times, and they're what forms faithful people in a wicked generation.
Your speech reveals your allegiance. Death and life are in the tongue.
