The Riyadh Comedy Festival

Esplicito
This week's episode takes a look at the Riyadh Comedy Festival. A whole bunch of comedians got paid a lot of money to perform at this festival, which had some pretty serious limits on what kind of jokes they could tell. Of course, it raised the same old questions about what comedians can and cannot tell jokes about although that is really more about what they should and should not tell jokes about. We offer our opinion on the matter as three comedians who were not invited to appear! We also get to answer five questions from a listener for the first time in quite a while!

Thunderbolts*

Esplicito
Hey check it out! It's another spoiler filled movie episode with Duck Washington as a guest! This time we are discussing "Thunderbolts," the most recent entry in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. We are pretty happy with this film overall and even get into some debate about how "bad" the latest string of Marvel movies have been. Maybe it hasn't been as rough a stretch as many seem to think.

Sinners

Esplicito
This week, we are talking about Ryan Coogler's amazing film "Sinners." Guest Duck Washington joins us to discuss this film and we are definitely spoiling the shit out of the movie so step away and come back when you've seen it because while this movie is great no matter how much you know about it, the less you know the better. We all pretty much gush over the film so if you didn't like it, you are wrong but also this episode might annoy you.

Misunderstanding Autism

Esplicito
A lot has been said by certain completely unqualified individuals lately when it comes to autism and we figured since Molly is autistic and both of Tim's kids are autistic, we knew more than other people with the initials RFK. There's a lot of dangerous misinformation floating around out there so we are here to remind you all that being autistic isn't bad. It isn't a disease to be cured. It's just a thing that some people are and have to navigate as they make their way through their lives. Which is totally OK.

All About Electric Cars

Esplicito
There has been a lot of talk about Teslas lately but did you know when it comes to electric cars, there are a LOT of other great options out there? Cynn Verbrugge joins us this week to tell us all sorts of information about the market. What does she know about it? Well she only worked on electric vehicle batteries for over a decade! No big deal.

Practicing Safe Resistance

Esplicito
Face it - things are getting pretty scary out there in the world and you may be thinking about standing up against it. We totally support that but we want you to be safe and prepared so this week we are offering advice on what you need to do to keep yourself safe while making your voice heard.

Baldur's Boners

Esplicito
This week it is time for some new geeky boners! Tim and Nick are both talking about remodeling their homes but Molly is talking about having sex in video games! So that one, at least, really fits the theme!

Captain America: Brave New World

Esplicito
Welcome to a spoiler filled discussion of the latest Captain American movie! And by "spoilers," we mean that we spoil the movie even more than the trailer already did! Overall, we weren't super happy with the film but Tim didn't completely hate it so that's something anyway...

Joker Folie a Deux

Esplicito
This week we are joined by frequent guest Ronn Bauman, our resident DC apologist, to discuss the latest Joker movie. He was not a fan of Joker so what are his thoughts on Joker: Folie a Deux? Does he like that it is a musical? Does his opinion of this film change his opinion of the previous film? And can Tim find a way to work Goose the Flerken into the conversation? Listen in to find out!

Wind and Truth

Esplicito
This week we have guest Delia Jordan to talk with us about the book Wind and Truth by Brandon Sanderson. The book itself has some really great representation which leads us into a conversation about Sanderson himself, who is a devout Mormon. His opinions on GLBTQIA+ definitely differ from those of his church so it creates an interesting conversation indeed!
