Emmy-nominated Great Day Louisiana host Malik Mingo joins Jonathan Forstall on Local Legends for a candid conversation about his journey from New Orleans to Texas and back home again. Malik reflects on being displaced by Hurricane Katrina, growing up in San Antonio, finding his own identity, and eventually realizing that hard news wasn't the career he wanted. He shares how taking a chance, literally sliding into the DMs of Great Day Louisiana, helped lead him back to New Orleans and into the television career he had dreamed about since high school. Along the way, Malik talks about authenticity, gratitude, positive energy, and why going after your dreams is one of the best definitions of success.
