For some people, the word "Prepper" has a negative meaning, while for others, it is almost a religion. 

To be a prepper doesn't necessarily mean that you have a basement of MREs and a garage full of beans and rice. It just means that you are prepared for something. What is that something? It changes from person to person. 

My wife and I, we prepared for an economic downturn that would have me losing my job. Doesn't sound sexy, does it? But that was the reality that we prepared for. Well, it wasn't necessarily an economic downturn that put our plans into place, it was the mismanagement of the division I worked in. The week before Thanksgiving, my department was eliminated.
