About Brian Gestring

In this first episode, Brian talks about his own experiences in the field of forensic science, from working in crime labs to teaching in classrooms to serving on state-level accreditation boards. People will realize that his main goal in his work has been to make forensic evidence more reliable. He thinks on what made him want to work in this sector, the difficulties of keeping the judicial system honest, and why accountability, not perfection, is the true measure of progress. This episode is the start of what Fixing Forensics is all about: a real look at how science, policy, and people come together to make the truth.
