The Runthrough
Stagione 1
di Adam Rippon, Ashley Wagner, and Sarah Hughes
We discuss Grand Prix France, pre-competition meals, stray birds, and an urgent request we received from a current skater.
Our first together-in-person recording! We discuss Skate Canada and preview Grand Prix France, and more importantly, Adam has too much power with his new soundboard.
We give our thoughts on Skate America and preview Skate Canada with opinions on finger-pointing choreography, bloody knees and dress thieves. Plus Ashley jinxes a whole new group of skaters in our fantasy draft.
It's the first Grand Prix of the season! And also our first fantasy draft. Listen for our predictions and hot takes and a little bit of singing?
We discuss the last few competitions before the start of the Grand Prix series, Adam pitches rule changes, and we have our first on-air fight.
We discuss the latest from Nebelhorn and Autumn Classic: "If you've got the cat body, wear the catsuit."
As the Challenger Series gets underway, Ashley tells us about her lifelong boycott of the Challenger Series. We also recap Lombardia Trophy and discuss our vision for a figure skating fantasy league.
Ashley and Adam bring on their favorite frenemy, journalist Phil Hersh, to talk about the best/worst program music in figure skating and some of his favorite interviews over the years. This episode also includes a moment to honor Alex Paul, who passed away suddenly last week. If you'd like to donate to the fund to support her husband Mitch and her infant son Charlie, please go to https://www.gofundme.com/f/supporting-baby-charlie-loss-of-mother-alex-paul. Thank you.
Adam quizzes Ashley and Sarah on figure skating trivia. Can you get more questions right than them? Probably.
Ashley and Adam talk through new program announcements for the coming season, then answer questions and discuss topics that have been sent by listeners! At one point in this episode, Ashley says, "None of this is appropriate conversation." So this episode is really good.
