2 Kings 2-3 show God continuing His work after Elijah is taken up and proving His power in a dry valley. In 2 Kings 2, Elijah is taken into heaven, Elisha receives the mantle, and God confirms Elisha’s prophetic ministry. In 2 Kings 3, three kings face a waterless crisis, and God provides water and victory through the word of the prophet.

The simple truth is this:

God’s work continues even when His servants change. The mantle may pass to another man, but the power still belongs to God.
