Stagione 13

JK Rowling

Season 13 of Every Day Tarot opens with a vital conversation before stepping into the magic of the Harry Potter world. In this episode, we explore the irony of JK Rowling’s public persona, how the books often portray femininity and intuition in a negative light, and the ways the fandom has reclaimed the wizarding world to center inclusivity and queer joy. What we explore in this episode: JK Rowling’s trans-exclusionary radical feminist (TERF) stance How the Harry Potter books reveal a pattern of devaluing femininity and intuitive arts like divination How the fandom has reclaimed the series to center inclusivity, diversity, and queer joy When Magic Meets Reality JK Rowling, born Joanne Rowling, has been publicly vocal since 2020 about her trans-exclusionary radical feminist (TERF) beliefs—views that deny the validity of trans women’s identities and actively push against their rights, including access to healthcare. Her stance isn’t just a matter of poorly chosen tweets. She has founded and personally funds the JK Rowling Women’s Fund, which supports legal cases designed to challenge trans inclusion and remove gender-affirming care. The fund takes no public donations; it is entirely powered by her wealth—wealth she built from all the books, films, merchandise, and spin-offs that make up the HP wizarding world. This has placed Harry Potter fans in a deeply personal ethical dilemma: How do we reconcile a story that taught us about friendship, bravery, and acceptance with the reality that its creator is actively funding harm against marginalized communities? The Fandom’s Reclamation Work The Harry Potter series no longer belongs solely to its author. Stories live and grow in the hearts of those who read them. We can honor the parts of the series that shaped us while holding Rowling accountable for her harm. We can channel our energy into creating inclusive spaces, supporting trans and queer communities, and practicing the magic of connection that the books once inspired in us. After all, the real magic isn’t in a wand, it’s in the choice to build a better world where everyone feels safe to be themselves. To explore the energy of this episode, I pulled cards from the Sasuraibito Tarot: The Devil - seduction of power and the shadow side of attachment. The Tower - collapse of illusions; the shock of seeing the truth. Eight of Cups - walking away from what no longer aligns, seeking deeper meaning. The World - wholeness and integration, reclaiming the narrative. A card about repairing trust after deception, rebuilding connections, and finding reconciliation where possible. Tarot and Goats

Welcome to Season 12 of Every Day Tarot! This season, we’re exploring the sacred bond between the tarot and our animal allies. In this episode, we talk about goats—curious, determined, and fiercely independent creatures who have lived alongside humans for over 10,000 years. From their ability to scale impossible cliffs to their role in myth and folklore, goats embody persistence, adaptability, and a refusal to be tamed. What we explore in this episode: Goat symbolisms in myth and magic How goat energy relates to certain tarot archetypes The message of the goat: stay persistent, resourceful, and unafraid to follow your own path Goat Symbolism in Myth & Magic Goats are among humanity’s oldest animal companions, domesticated for milk, meat, hides, and wool—and just as importantly, for their spirited company. They are woven deeply into human history and imagination. In Norse myth, Thor’s chariot is pulled by two powerful goats. In astrology, Capricorn—the sea-goat—blends ambition with mystical depth. In folklore, goats are sometimes cast as rebellious or “devilish,” not because they are evil, but because they resist blind conformity. Symbolically, goats remind us to: Tenacity & perseverance Self-sufficiency Curiosity & exploration While sheep are often seen as docile followers, goats carry the archetype of the rebel—playful, cunning, and willing to challenge the status quo. This is part of why they’ve been linked to the Devil card in tarot and to ideas of temptation, defiance, and personal freedom. Tarot Cards Featuring Goat Energy: Goat energy invites us to trust our instincts, to explore beyond our comfort zone, and to embrace independence even when the path is rocky. The Chariot (Anima Mundi Tarot) Represented here by a ram, its horned strength echoes the goat’s determination and willpower to forge ahead toward victory. The Shepherd (The Citadel Oracle) Featuring a goat’s skull, this card embodies guidance, leadership, and care, reminding us that independence and community connection can coexist. The Devil (Desert Illuminations Tarot) Often depicted with goat horns or satyr features, this card speaks to temptation, rebellion, and breaking from the herd. It asks us to examine our attachments and reclaim our autonomy. If you haven't listened to my other seasons yet, go check them out! 💭 Today's Tarot Pull: From The Sasuraibito Tarot deck by Stasia Burrington, I pulled the Four of Swords (Reversed). This reversal calls out restlessness, overwork, and the fear of stillness—or, on the other side, being too inactive and unmotivated. Goat energy here nudges us to break from stagnation, whether that means honoring your need for true rest or shaking yourself free from inertia. Reflective prompts on this card: Where am I overworked and in need of real restoration? Where am I stuck in stillness, afraid to move forward? With their striking beauty and intricate life cycle, butterflies teach us that true change takes time, struggle, and surrender. They remind us to trust the cocoon, to honor periods of stillness, and to celebrate what emerges on the other side. What we explore in this episode: Butterfly symbolisms in myth and magic How butterfly energy relates to certain tarot archetypes The message of the butterfly: look forward to your transformation, embrace it, and it will give you wings Butterfly Symbolism in Myth & Magic Butterflies are some of the most powerful symbols of change across cultures. Their life cycle—egg, caterpillar, chrysalis, winged adult—mirrors the personal and spiritual transformations we all navigate. In spiritual traditions, butterflies are seen as messengers from the spirit world, symbols of the soul, and signs of personal evolution. Their presence invites us to honor impermanence and celebrate the beauty of what was, even as we prepare to become something new. Butterflies represent: Metamorphosis & personal growth Cycles of life, death, & rebirth Intuition, lightness, & spiritual freedom Tarot Cards Featuring Butterfly Energy: Butterfly energy shows up across these decks: as a symbol of metamorphosis, mental clarity, rebirth, and the courage it takes to become someone new. Knight of Swords (Sasuraibito Tarot) This card shows a dramatic image of a butterfly seemingly split in two at the third eye. Paired with the Knight of Swords, it emphasizes swift clarity, decisive change, and the unrelenting momentum of transformation. Death – (Herb Crafters Tarot) In this deck, the Death card features marigolds and monarch butterflies in honor of Día de los Muertos. It’s a reminder that what ends makes room for what matters most. Eight of Wands (Ophidia Rosa Tarot) This card pulses with forward motion. It’s about momentum, movement, and rapid shifts. The butterfly’s inclusion mirrors the energy of sudden growth and transformation. If you haven't listened to my other seasons yet, go check them out! This card is a gentle invitation to celebrate your growth because even the tiny, awkward, in-progress wins count. Just like a butterfly doesn’t emerge all at once, our transformations unfold quietly, layer by layer. When we pause to honor what we’ve already moved through, we create space to witness the magic that’s already in motion. Reflective prompts on this card: What shifted for you in the last moon cycle? Tarot and Wolves

Welcome to Season 12 of Every Day Tarot! In this episode, we talk about the wolf. Revered and feared across cultures, wolves remind us of our instincts, our longing for belonging, and the tension between the wild and the tame. They show up in tarot as symbols of the wild self, the edge-dweller, the one who knows how to walk between worlds. What we explore in this episode: Wolf symbolism in myth and magic How wolf energy relates to certain tarot archetypes The message of the wolf: there is power in the pack, and there is strength to be found in an untamed heart Wolf Symbolism in Myth & Magic Wolves have long been both demonized and deified. Where humans have feared the wild, we have cast the wolf as villain. But in truth, the wolf is a creature of rhythm, respect, and relational depth. In myth and magical practice, wolves represent: Instinct and intuition Loyalty, kinship, and cooperation Shadow work and the unconscious Territorial protection and fierce boundaries From Odin’s wolves in Norse legend to the Pawnee Wolf Star and the she-wolf who raised Romulus and Remus, the wolf appears across traditions as both guide and guardian. Wolves also share a mythic and ecological bond with crows and ravens—working in tandem, communicating across species, and reminding us that real power often comes through interdependence. Tarot Cards Featuring Wolf Energy: Wolves don’t show up often in traditional decks, but when they do, they carry a message of shadow, strength, and sacred connection to the wild self. The Moon (Rider-Waite-Smith & Traditional Decks) In many decks, The Moon card features both a dog and a wolf, standing at the liminal edge between domestication and wilderness. The wolf represents our primal instincts—the parts of us that howl when we stray too far from our truth. Strength (Desert Illuminations Tarot) This version of Strength honors the myth of the Red Wolf, a spirit guide who teaches resilience, surrender, and the power of inner will. This card reminds us that strength doesn’t always roar, sometimes watches from the shadows, and survives through trust. Ten of Pentacles (Anima Mundi Tarot) In this card, a Red Wolf rests with its pups, embodying themes of legacy, family protection, and the abundance that comes from shared responsibility. Knight of Pentacles (Anima Mundi Tarot) A Gray Wolf teaches us how to move with consistency and intention. A striking synchronicity, as the card features a raven, reminding us of their mythic partnership with wolves. This oracle offers a message of caution: “Don't let the pursuit of knowledge become a search for flaws. See the whole picture—flaws and all.” Reflective prompts on this card: Where might I be overly focused on what’s going wrong instead of what’s growing? Who or what do I need to forgive so I can move forward with clarity? What alliances in my life could be deepened through shared vision and mutual respect?
