In 2021 I sat down with Ellen Matzer, RN, CCRN, and Valery Hughes, FNP, RN to talk about their first book Nurses On The Inside: Stories of HIV/AIDS Epidemic in NYC. Their newest book Beyond The Mask is a compelling work based on the COVID epidemic telling the stories of six fictitious healthcare workers based on the experiences of those who actually worked on the front lines.
