Those are known in over 33 countries for an AMBER Alert or America's Missing: Broadcast Emergency Response. As of May 2022, the Amber Alert system has recovered 1,114 kidnapped or abducted children. There are also 82 Amber Alert systems in place worldwide. It all started with 9-year-old Amber Hagerman, who was abducted on January 13, 1996, while she was out riding her bike.
