"My wife and I spent the last 10 days in two different children's hospitals, Nemours and CHOP. We initially took our 3-month-old daughter, Carmella, in to get blood work because her skin was turning yellow, only to find out she has high bilirubin levels and liver enzymes. After numerous tests, we discovered she had two gallstones stuck in her common bile duct, preventing the bile from releasing into her small intestine. This led to an emergency surgery, which ended up being two surgeries because the first surgery (ERCP) didn’t work. Four days later, Dr. Acord, Dr. Mamula, and Dr. Coe performed a Percutaneous Transhepatic Cholangiography (PTC) Surgery, and they were able to clear the pipes to ensure proper flow of the fluids.
