God’s people are named “The prosperous of the earth” in Psalm 22:29, yet there is no mention of financial or material gain in that passage. This verse speaks prophetically of the New Covenant and the Messianic Age to come, so this status definitely belongs to us—but why did God use such a controversial term? Follow the concept of prosperity throughout the Bible and pull back the veil on truth. “The prosperous of the earth” is a title given to God’s people in Psalm 22:29 (NKJV). Why would the heavenly Father name His offspring this if prosperity was something He did not intend to pour out? But is that always indicated by material or financial gain? Is there a balanced, God-pleasing, and powerful way of looking at this concept? Understanding this revelation will help propel you into its reality. God calls His people to speak as “oracles of God” (1 Pt. 4:11). In other words, we are to speak as if God is speaking through us—words of truth, words of faith, words of love, words that are powerfully anointed of His Spirit, and on the highest level, words that are prophetic in nature. This mandate is given to all believers; those who fulfill it become world-changers and history-makers. God has promised to bestow numerous crowns on His people, such as: the crown of life, the crown of righteousness, and the crown of glory. A crown represents authority, power, dominion, victory, excellence, rest and completion—and with regard to this symbolism, victory over its opposite. This revelation will awaken in you the realization that He really has made us “kings and priests unto God” (Rev. 1:6). Believers are the temple of God in this New Testament era. In the previous Age of the Law, the Ark of the Covenant was enshrined in the innermost chamber of the temple of Solomon. In this present era, what the ark symbolized is enshrined within the hearts of the sons and daughters of God. This revelation will awaken in you a new appreciation of the mystery of God’s plan emerging in His people. God’s New Covenant people are a living temple for His indwelling. Isaiah 45:15 declares that God is a God who hides Himself—and one way He does that is in symbolism. Many facets of the Old Testament, including the seven primary pieces of furniture, provide a beautiful, intriguing, mysterious, metaphorical symbol of how our hearts should be furnished if we are God’s habitation. Solomon’s Temple—What a powerful, mysterious, prophetic symbol from the Old Testament! Incomparable in architectural beauty and grandeur, that glorious structure awakened awe in the hearts of all who saw it. Wondrously, it also provided many symbolic foreshadowings concerning the Eternal Temple yet to come—a temple made of living stones (born again believers) in this New Testament era. In even greater ways, we are truly a showcase for His glory! Born-again believers are just as beloved of the Father as Jesus, the firstborn Son, if their lives are sincerely surrendered to Him. Hard to believe? Who were the magi, the wise men who brought gifts to the baby Jesus? Where did they come from? When did they arrive? Were there only three? Were they kings? Why are they traditionally placed in that role? There are a lot of intriguing things about these mysterious “star-followers,” who filled such an important role in the story of the incarnation, yet are unnamed and never heard from again. (This is an episode from the "Revealing the True Light" podcast that was intentionally included as a "Discover Your Spiritual Identity" episode---because all of God's people should be among "The Wise" and we need to find out "What Made the Wise Men Wise?")
