When the ark of the covenant was placed in Solomon’s temple, God’s glory rushed into that glorious edifice as the Most High came to dwell in His “resting place.” But God was not satisfied. In Isaiah 66, He asked, “Where is the house that you will build Me? And where is the place of My rest?”—then He gave the answer, and it involves us. Such a beautiful revelation! God’s people are named “The prosperous of the earth” in Psalm 22:29, yet there is no mention of financial or material gain in that passage. This verse speaks prophetically of the New Covenant and the Messianic Age to come, so this status definitely belongs to us—but why did God use such a controversial term? Follow the concept of prosperity throughout the Bible and pull back the veil on truth. “The prosperous of the earth” is a title given to God’s people in Psalm 22:29 (NKJV). Why would the heavenly Father name His offspring this if prosperity was something He did not intend to pour out? But is that always indicated by material or financial gain? Is there a balanced, God-pleasing, and powerful way of looking at this concept? Understanding this revelation will help propel you into its reality. The bride of the heavenly Bridegroom is named “a well of living waters” in the Song of Solomon. What a revelation of the profoundness of our calling, both in this world and the world to come! Evidently, we are a family of thirst-quenchers: quenching God’s thirst for loving communion and the thirst of lost humanity for the truth. A beautiful, poetical, metaphorical, prophetical truth! The body of Christ is named “one bread” and “unleavened Passover bread” in Scripture (1 Cor. 5:7; 10:17). We inherit this status from the compassionate Savior who declared, “I am the living bread which came down from heaven.” His purpose in coming was to feed a spiritually emaciated human race, starving for truth. Believers receive the same identity and purpose. The requirement is being “leaven-free.” Ministry website: www.shreveministries.org Comparative religion website: www.thetruelight.net The “Catholic Project” website: www.toCatholicswithlove.org Video channel: www.YouTube.com/mikeshreveministries All audio-podcasts are shared in a video format on our YouTube channel. In the New Covenant, only the supernatural offspring of the Lord Jesus, the Great High Priest, are granted this status and calling, both now and forevermore. One of the most heart-gripping parts of Passion Week involves Jesus being crowned with thorns. Weren’t thorns a sign of God’s curse in the beginning? Also, why is the bride of Christ referred to as a “lily among thorns” in the Song of Solomon? All these things weave together symbolically and mysteriously into a most amazing revelation. Scripture teaches that New Testament children of God are “a people for His name” (Acts 15:14). If so, we need to understand how His name has been progressively revealed over thousands of years. Almost 7,000 times in the original Hebrew of the Old Testament, the name YHWH is assigned to God. Why is it usually translated into the simple title “LORD”? Let’s explore this mystery together!
