Old Covenant redemption laws amazingly foreshadow how Jesus ushered in the New Covenant. The same Hebrew word is translated “redeemer,” “nearest kinsman” (CEV) and “avenger” of blood (NKJV). How are these related and what’s it got to do with redemption?
