The classic starring Bing Crosby and Danny Kaye- White Christmas. As always, reactions, themes and favorite scenes are talked about, but we also see if this movie holds as much Christmas weight as the previous two movies we've watched. Yes that's right, we are going to see if this movie is as "Christmassy" as Children of Men and Fat Man. We will also discuss some of the good ol fashion values this Country used to have and how they are portrayed in movies like this. Thanks for listening, and we will be back in 2025!

2.2 Brought to You by Hell or High Water

This episode reviews Hell or High Water from 2016. This movie was chosen to represent the preview for season 2 of the podcast because it seems to touch on all the chapters to come. As always, we get into our first reactions, our themes, and favorite scenes. We've added the brand new mechanic of 'Scene Perception,' where we each provide how we interpreted specific scenes in the movie. We also get into symbolism, and discuss just how much of a Western this movie is.

2.3 Brought to You by the Phrase "Class and Poverty"

Perhaps one of the biggest topics Depth Perception has taken on- it's class and poverty in movies. Join us as we try to pin down our thoughts on what poverty is, and how it is portrayed in film. We talk about siding with the poor protagonist, depicting the rich as the villain, the strive to become wealthy, wealthiness' impact or how inconsequential on happiness, social movement through class, the endless cycle of poverty, and just how realistic class and poverty is portrayed. Movies discussed include but are not limited to: Titanic, Precious, Snowpiercer, Barbershop, Emperor's New Groove, Aladdin, Home Alone, There Will be Blood, The Wolf of Wall Street, Ready Player One...

2.4 Brought to You by Bicycle Thieves

Mr Vozly challenges Kmax and Tin Man to not only a foreign film, but a black and white foreign film. We watch the 1948 Italian Neorealist masterpiece Ladri di biciclette. This movie is part of the class and poverty chapter this season. Perceptions differ on the views of poverty in this discussion. As always we talk about our favorite scenes, impressions, and themes. Scene perception comes to us in the form of the final scene, and we callback fatherhood in movies.

2.5 Brought to You by Parasite

The final episode in the Class and Poverty Chapter includes the 2019 Best Picture Parasite. Like always we talk about reactions, themes, and favorite scenes. We also have extended time addressing the amount of symbolism throughout the movie. The guys then merge the discussion to include Bicycle Thieves and even The Florida Project when relating to our initial discussion on class and poverty in film. The nature of poverty as well as how universal the issues are, become quite apparent when we compare the three movies.

2.6 Brought to You by the Phrase "Ethical Questions"

This episode reviews how movies ask us about ethical dilemmas- how they make us reflect on the morality of certain topics or circumstances. It happens more than we may realize... Movies discussed in this episode include but are not limited to A Few Good Men, Oppenheimer, Schindler's List, Captain America Civil War, Cabin in the Woods, Funny Games, Gone Baby Gone, Trainspotting, Nightcrawler and One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest. There are oh so many more we could have included, but these are just our selections.

2.7 Brought to You by M

The guys try to navigate through ethical question after ethical question as presented by Fritz Lang's 1931 film M. Real life experience makes its way into the conversation to give depth to the morality in this story. This is the only film in the Ethical Question chapter, but boy does it have ethical questions.

2.8 Brought to You by the Phrase "Indigenous Representation" Part I

The three native guys finally talk about natives in movies. There was so much to say, this chapter had to be released in 2 parts. The agenda includes: Our own brief indigenous background, historical vs stereotypical portrayals, depictions in the modern age, relation to our own communities and others, things in movies that makes us proud as indigenous folk, and our own personal favorite movies with indigenous representation. In this first part of the chapter, we cover Our own brief indigenous background, historical vs stereotypical portrayals, and begin depictions in the modern age. Movies discussed in this episode include: Dances With Wolves, The Last Samurai, Last of the Mohicans, Shanghai Noon, Prey, Peter Pan, Bone Tomahawk, Lone Ranger, Crooked Arrows, and Smoke Signals.
