Showpiece or Servant

Esplicito
Showpiece or Servant Matthew 23:1-11 (KJV) several observations: first, they multiplied commands upon individuals which they themselves would not practice; second, they practiced their religious traditions for the recognition they received of men; third, they had respect of person, for they loved chief places in the assembly and wanted to be greeted with honor in society. Jesus condemned their status-seeking, and contrasted their practice with the New Community that He was creating. The New People of God have one Teacher, the Christ; one level, all are brethren; one Father before whom all bow, the Father in heaven; and one measure of greatness, that of being servants who humble themselves in service. Whose Son Is the Christ?

Esplicito
Whose Son Is the Christ? Matthew 22:41-46 (KJV) "Whose son is the Christ, the Messiah?" the Pharisees responded, "The Son of David." Jesus immediately quoted a passage in which David himself acknowledged the Messiah as Lord (Psa 110:1). Then Jesus asked, "If David calls Him 'Lord,' how is He his Son?" We should note that Jesus said David made this statement "in the Spirit" (Mat 22:43), a direct reference to the Spirit's inspiration of the psalmist in writing. The Great Commandment

Esplicito
This picture is described in Psa 2:2, "The rulers take counsel together, against the Lord, and against his anointed." One of the group served as a spokesman. The word nomikos, translated "lawyer," means one trained in the Law, a scribe. The question is again to test Jesus, seeking an answer that would indict Him for blasphemy. The scribes said there were 613 laws, with 248 being affirmative and 365 being negative. Some even argued that the commandment to wear fringes on the garments was the greatest of the 613! Sadducees Ask About the Resurrection

Esplicito
Sadducees Ask About the Resurrection Matthew 22:23-33 (KJV) 23 The same day came to him the Sadducees, which say that there is no resurrection, and asked him, 24 Saying, Master, Moses said, If a man die, having no children, his brother shall marry his wife, and raise up seed unto his brother. 25 Now there were with us seven brethren: and the first, when he had married a wife, deceased, and, having no issue, left his wife unto his brother: 26 Likewise the second also, and the third, unto the seventh. 27 And last of all the woman died also. 28 Therefore in the resurrection whose wife shall she be of the seven? for they all had her. 29 Jesus answered and said unto them, Ye do err, not knowing the scriptures, nor the power of God. 30 For in the resurrection they neither marry, nor are given in marriage, but are as the angels of God in heaven. 31 But as touching the resurrection of the dead, have ye not read that which was spoken unto you by God, saying, 32 I am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob? God is not the God of the dead, but of the living. 33 And when the multitude heard this, they were astonished at his doctrine. Giving Thanks

Esplicito
Giving Thanks “And when he had thus spoken, he took bread, and gave thanks to God in presence of them all; and when he had broken it, he began to eat.” (Acts 27:35) PAUL was on board a ship that had gone through a storm. He counseled the people on board the ship to take some food. Our verse records Paul giving thanks to God for the food. It is a most instructive verse about thanksgiving. We note five things about this giving of thanks by Paul. Paul gave thanks. A grateful heart is a good heart. In all your learning, learn to give thanks. It is vital learning. People who do not know how to give thanks have a character problem. You may fail in many areas of life, but you will have a successful life if you know how to give thanks. Paul gave thanks in spite of circumstances. Paul was a prisoner (unjustly) on board a ship in a storm. Yet, in spite of his dire circumstances, Paul still gave thanks. A good way to combat bad circumstances is to give thanks. Failure to give thanks will only make your circumstances worse. Paul gave thanks to God. God is the real source of our blessings and needs to be the first one thanked for all our blessings. Those who give thanks to God will be more likely to give thanks to their fellow man. An ungrateful heart towards God produces an ungrateful heart towards men. Paul gave thanks for what he had. Paul thanked God for the food, but it wasn’t much. He was not sitting down to a great feast which had all kinds of delicious food. We need to learn to give thanks for what we have rather than complain about what we do not have. Those who are always complaining about their lack are generally those who do not thank God for what they have. If you do not thank God for what you have, do not expect God to give you more. Paul gave thanks in public. This was not for show, but it was a testimony for God. So many people do not give thanks in public. Go to a public restaurant and observe how few people give thanks for their meals. If you are not willing to give God thanks in public, do not be surprised if God is not willing to bless you in public. Paying Taxes to Caesar

Esplicito
Paying Taxes to Caesar Matthew 22:15-22 (KJV) 15 Then went the Pharisees, and took counsel how they might entangle him in his talk. 16 And they sent out unto him their disciples with the Herodians, saying, Master, we know that thou art true, and teachest the way of God in truth, neither carest thou for any man: for thou regardest not the person of men. 17 Tell us therefore, What thinkest thou? Is it lawful to give tribute unto Caesar, or not? 18 But Jesus perceived their wickedness, and said, Why tempt ye me, ye hypocrites? 19 Shew me the tribute money. And they brought unto him a penny. 20 And he saith unto them, Whose is this image and superscription? 21 They say unto him, Caesar's. Then saith he unto them, Render therefore unto Caesar the things which are Caesar's; and unto God the things that are God's. 22 When they had heard these words, they marvelled, and left him, and went their way. The Parable of the Wedding Feast

Esplicito
You are invited to the marriage supper of the Lamb (Rev 19:7-9) if you believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God and accept him as your personal Savior by his amazing Grace (Revelation 19:9-10) “And he saith unto me, Write, Blessed are they which are called unto the marriage supper of the Lamb. And he saith unto me, These are the true sayings of God. And I fell at his feet to worship him. And he said unto me, See thou do it not: I am thy fellowservant, and of thy brethren that have the testimony of Jesus: worship God: for the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.” Thank you for tuning into Daily Bible Benefits Have a good and godly day

The Parable of the Two Sons

Esplicito
The Parable of the Two Sons Matthew 21:28-32 Do you know the story of John Bunyan, declaring that he would not go into the kingdom of God with an oath so horrid that even the abandoned people in the street tried to hush him up, and yet, in a little while dreaming a dream of heaven so sweet that the mere recital of it has enchanted all Christendom ? Our lesson is Never give up on people continue to pray for them continue to love them. It may be through your testimony of long-suffering that they be one to Jesus Christ. The Authority of Jesus Challenged

Esplicito
The Authority of Jesus Challenged Matthew 21:23-27 Our Lord always refused to gratify idle curiosity. When an earnest seeker for truth, like Nicodemus, approached Him to know the way of life, He was willing to give time and thought without stint. But of what use was it to endeavor to satisfy these men who had refused to acknowledge the divine mission of the Forerunner! They would not speak out their inner convictions, because of the effect it would have on their worldly prospects. For such as these Christ has nothing. At all costs, we must be true to the inner light, that is, to God’s Spirit within us. Sometimes it’s better to ask a question than give an answer, especially when you know the question is not sincere.Let us seek to be like Jesus, wise, compassionate, an truthful Thank you for tuning into Daily Bible Benefits Have a good and godly day
