Lk 7:11-17 Jesus journeyed to a city called Nain, and his disciples and a large crowd accompanied him.As he drew near to the gate of the city,a man who had died was being carried out,the only son of his mother, and she was a widow.A large crowd from the city was with her. When the Lord saw her,he was moved with pity for her and said to her,"Do not weep."He stepped forward and touched the coffin;at this the bearers halted, and he said, "Young man, I tell you, arise!"The dead man sat up and began to speak, and Jesus gave him to his mother.Fear seized them all, and they glorified God, exclaiming,"A great prophet has arisen in our midst,"and "God has visited his people."This report about him spread through the whole of Judeaand in all the surrounding region. ▶️ You can follow the daily live stream Eucharistic Celebration at 6:30 p.m. (Holy Land Time) here: https://www.youtube.com/@magdalaenglish Follow us: 📷 Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/experiencemagdala/ 👍 Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/magdalenglish 📢 Subscribe to our Newsletter 👉 https://bit.ly/magdala-newsletter 💟 Help us to keep developing the Magdala Project. Lk 7:1-10 When Jesus had finished all his words to the people,he entered Capernaum.A centurion there had a slave who was ill and about to die,and he was valuable to him. When he heard about Jesus, he sent elders of the Jews to him, asking him to come and save the life of his slave. They approached Jesus and strongly urged him to come, saying,"He deserves to have you do this for him,for he loves our nation and he built the synagogue for us."And Jesus went with them, but when he was only a short distance from the house, the centurion sent friends to tell him,"Lord, do not trouble yourself, for I am not worthy to have you enter under my roof. Therefore, I did not consider myself worthy to come to you;but say the word and let my servant be healed. For I too am a person subject to authority, with soldiers subject to me.And I say to one, Go, and he goes;and to another, Come here, and he comes;and to my slave, Do this, and he does it."When Jesus heard this he was amazed at himand, turning, said to the crowd following him,"I tell you, not even in Israel have I found such faith."When the messengers returned to the house, they found the slave in good health. Mk 8:27-35 Jesus and his disciples set outfor the villages of Caesarea Philippi.Along the way he asked his disciples,"Who do people say that I am?"They said in reply,"John the Baptist, others Elijah, still others one of the prophets."And he asked them,"But who do you say that I am?"Peter said to him in reply,"You are the Christ."Then he warned them not to tell anyone about him.He began to teach themthat the Son of Man must suffer greatlyand be rejected by the elders, the chief priests, and the scribes, and be killed, and rise after three days.He spoke this openly. Then Peter took him aside and began to rebuke him.At this he turned around and, looking at his disciples, rebuked Peter and said, "Get behind me, Satan. You are thinking not as God does, but as human beings do."He summoned the crowd with his disciples and said to them,"Whoever wishes to come after me must deny himself, take up his cross, and follow me.For whoever wishes to save his life will lose it,but whoever loses his life for my sakeand that of the gospel will save it." ▶️ You can follow the daily live stream Eucharistic Celebration at 6:30 p.m. (Holy Land Time) here: https://www.youtube.com/@magdalaenglish Follow us: 📷 Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/experiencemagdala/ 👍 Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/magdalenglish 📢 Subscribe to our Newsletter 👉 https://bit.ly/magdala-newsletter 💟 Help us to keep developing the Magdala Project. JN 3:13-17 Jesus said to Nicodemus: “No one has gone up to heaven except the one who has come down from heaven, the Son of Man. And just as Moses lifted up the serpent in the desert, so must the Son of Man be lifted up, so that everyone who believes in him may have eternal life.” For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him might not perish but might have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world might be saved through him.
