In this interview, we spoke with Fernando Pérez castaño, a gardener at a hotel near Havana. Fernando talks about the impacts of the blockade, the realities for Cuban workers, and the crisis they are experiencing right now in Cuba due to US aggression.

This episode is the second statements of interviews conducted by the Resist U.S. Led War Delegation solidarity brigade that went to Cuba in August 2026. During the solidarity mission, we were able to participate in a colloquium on the legacy and future of Fidel Castro, and learn firsthand how hybrid warfare led by the US is affecting the Cuban people and how they continue to resist under an increasing sanctions regime. We were also able to strengthen regional ties and mobilize antiwar action by joining the Zone of Peace campaign gathering in Havana.
