The End is All About Jesus

The Side Kick to the Anti-Jesus

Revelation 13:11-18

The Main Point: Temptations to idolatry in the coming days require discernment for the people of Jesus.

The Personality of the Second Beast: A false prophet (v11; Dan 8:3; Mt 7:15; 2 Cor 11:13-15a)

The Purpose of the Second Beast: To lead people to false worship (v12) through…

• Spiritual charades (vv13-14; Ex 7:11-12a; 1 Ki 18:38; Mt 24:24)
• Physical threats (v15; Dan 3:5-6)
• Economic pressure (vv16-17; Deut 6:4-8; Rev 7:3)

The Plea to God’s people: To recognize and reject false worship (v18; Dan 12:10)

• We must recognize false prophets. (Mt 7:16a)
• We must reject false prophets. (Mt 6:19-21, 24; Col 2:2-3)
