We talk Sarah Michelle Gellar’s heartbreaking performance, Giles and Angel’s desperation, Buffy fully accepting her role as the Slayer, and why this episode finally feels like Buffy the Vampire Slayer. We also debate the prophecy loophole, Xander’s CPR moment, Slayer power rules, Hellmouth logic, and those iconic one-liners. 💬 Do you think Buffy was stronger after coming back — or was the prophecy always meant to break?

Out of Mind, Out of Sight Might Be Season 1’s Most Real Episode - S1E11

This week we rewatch Out of Mind, Out of Sight, and wow… this episode hits hard. We talk invisibility as a metaphor for high school loneliness, Cordelia’s surprising depth, Buffy feeling sidelined even with friends, and why Marcy’s story is both terrifying and heartbreaking. We talk test anxiety, naked-in-class dreams, spiders, clowns, Buffy being buried alive, and vampire Buffy looking way too cool. We also unpack why the episode works so well as a dream, how budget limits actually helped it, Giles’ iconic lines, and that uncomfortable ending with Billy. Which nightmare hit closest to home for you — the exam, the clown, or being buried alive?

Cheesy or Creepy? We FINALLY Disagree…

We’re split on The Puppet Show. Creepy puppet masterpiece? Or the weakest Buffy episode ever? We talk Snyder’s debut, Sid’s questionable jokes, Cordelia being Cordelia, and that rushed ending. Plus Buffy reboot theories and parallel-universe chaos. Comment below: Do YOU love or hate this episode?

The One With Jenny Calendar, Demon Chatrooms, and Buffy’s Three Birthdays - S1E8

We’re talking I Robot… You Jane, the episode where Willow gets catfished by a literal demon, Giles meets Jenny Calendar for the first time, and everyone somehow trusts teenagers to scan demon books unsupervised. We chat about Moloch’s creepy control, Dave’s shocking death, Buffy’s three different birthdays, Willow’s emotional maturity, and that instant Giles–Calendar chemistry. Plus demon-in-the-computer metaphors, 90s tech chaos, and why this episode is secretly a lot darker than people remember. Tell us your favourite moment below!

Buffy + Angel: The Episode That Started the Obsession - S1E7

Hyena-possession, Flutie gets eaten, our Xander rant starts now - S1E6

No gore, all atmosphere. We break down “The Pack” — the bullying metaphor, Flutie’s offscreen fate, that awful attempt on Buffy, and Xander pretending he “can’t remember.” Plus Willow love, library training, and a little reboot news. Share your favourite line!

The Buffy episode we always forget… but it’s actually really funny! - S1E5

We’re back with Never Kill a Boy on the First Date — the Buffy episode we always zone out during but secretly enjoy. The Praying Mantis Teacher, Thirsty Xander, and Angel’s Jacket - S1E4

Sema and Sally break down Season 1, Episode 4 of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, “Teacher’s Pet.” They talk about the creepy (and honestly ridiculous) She-Mantis plot, why this episode feels so uncomfortable to watch now, and how it handles student–teacher predatory behaviour in a way that’s both dark and silly. They get into Xander’s fantasy of being Buffy’s hero, why he actually doesn’t understand who Buffy really is, and how Willow sees him way more clearly than he sees her. They also talk about Buffy’s first real spark with Angel at the Bronze, that jacket moment, and why early Buffy/Angel still works. Plus: Dr. Gregory being the first teacher to believe in Buffy, Giles being dramatic, the monster design, and why this is one of the Season 1 episodes they usually skip.
