Honoring Our Indigenous Past w/ Ramon Vasquez & Harry Shafer | The Buena Vista Project
Note sull'episodio
Texas history doesn’t start with the Alamo. Thousands of years before Davy Crockett, our indigenous ancestors were here. And their untold stories continue to enrich San Antonio’s history.
The Buena Vista Project is co-hosted by reporters Elaine Ayala and Michael Quintanilla. Thank you to our guests Ramon Vasquez of the American Indians of Texas, and Anthropologist Harry Shafer for joining us!
ABOUT THE BUENA VISTA PROJECT
Coming to you from the epicenter of the Mexican American capitol of the United States, the Buena Vista Project is a critical look at San Antonio’s people, politics, places and passions.
We amplify voices that shape our streets and stages, from tamaleras to trailblazers, muralists to movie makers and activists to abuelitas.
Each podcast and narrative dives into the richness of our culture, blending a deep reverence for tradition with a sharp eye on current events. The Buena Project is a news archive in real time – a front-row seat to San Antonio’s soul, a mic shared with activists self-trained as policy makers and economists, politicians serving as diplomats and change-makers who are ambassadors among us.
Together, we are writing and rewriting the great San Antonio narrative.
