Disney sends cease-and-desist to ByteDance over AI-generated videos (Seedance 2.0)

What happened

Disney ($DIS) sent a cease-and-desist letter to ByteDance, alleging its AI video generator (Seedance 2.0) was trained and/or packaged with unauthorised, pirated libraries of copyrighted characters (including major franchises). ByteDance said it will strengthen safeguards to prevent unauthorised copyrighted content in future versions.
