The Blues Brothers. A seminal work of music, action, and comedy. It's a movie you could easily see in the dictionary next to "cult film". A movie that begs to be rewatched, quoted, and rewatched again. A sequel seemed inevitable, but for some reason it took 18 years, and by then all the coke had worn off and took with it all the fun. Blues Brothers 2000 was belched into the world and Karl and Russ swear that they did their best to watch this with an open heart. But through the tears of boredom and rage, there's something rotten here. Whether through corporate meddling, lack of budget, or maybe just laziness, this legacy sequel sits as a shining example on how not to revive a beloved piece of Americana. At least we learned from our mistakes...right?
