James 1:19-27
We walk together through the final third of the first chapter of James today. There are some hard things to hear this week. We learn that we must be slow to anger, because anger does not bring the righteousness of God. We must cast off all filthiness and rampant wickedness in order to receive the meekness of the Word of God in our hearts, which saves our souls.
James 1:1-12
Join us as Pastor Aaron begins his sermon series through James. We begin by learning about how God is our rock and foundation through the trials of our life. We have to ask ourselves, is our faith firmly planted in Jesus? Or are we double-minded?
Songs of Summer: Commands for Worship
Songs of Summer: Psalm 113
During our outdoor service, Pastor Aaron led us through Psalm 113. This is a psalm that would have been sung during Passover as a song of praise to God. We see the psalmist praising God by calling our attention to how high and majestic God is and how He rules over all the nations. But we also see how He lifts us out of the ash heap and into glory with Him.
Songs of Summer: Psalm 84
This week, Pastor Aaron goes through Psalm 84 with us. We see how this is a song of celebration of a family coming back to God. The Sons of Korah was written as a song of Right Standing and coming back to God. This psalm shows us how we may go through a period of hard circumstances, but God is always there to give us strength to come through the situations we find ourselves in.
Songs of Summer: Psalm 103
Pastor Aaron walks us through Psalm 103, written by King David. This psalm, or song, is a reflection of a more mature King David looking back at his life and realizing God's steadfast love and grace through every part of his life. We see that "Bless the Lord" really means a humbling of yourself through a physical kneeling and reverence toward God. And through that blessing, we receive the steadfast love of God.
Christ at the Head
Our youth pastor, Corben, walks us through what it means to have Christ as the Head of our lives and the Head of our spiritual walk with Him.
Songs of Summer: Psalm 136
Pastor Aaron begins a new series, for the summer, on songs or psalms of praise. He begins with Psalm 136, which would have been read during Passover and is a call and response song. This psalm repeats the Hebrew word, "Hesed" which we see in our Bibles as either Love or Mercy. This Hebrew word actually has 3 main meanings. Those are: Covenant Loyalty, Generous Grace and Deliberate Humility.
Acts 28 Part 2
Pastor Aaron finishes up the book of Acts with a challenge to go into the world and be ambassadors for Christ.
Acts 28: 1-16
Today we read more about Paul being shipwrecked on the island of Malta. Paul's faith in God's promise that he would make it to Rome is evident in the passage where Paul is bitten by the snake. We also see God's work through Paul with the miracles of healing that God worked through Paul.
