Stagione 3
Oh my holy crap - Scott totally called it. It's kind of amazing, honestly, because it seems like each one of his guesses is so wildly out of touch and maybe it's because he hasn't read the books despite Lindsay continually telling him to and you gotta wonder at this point is - ... y'know what we're getting off topic, here! RAND! FORSAKEN! Matt's there too, I think. Pretty sure we saw him. Anyway, enjoy the review and be sure to check out the Dark Friend Social coming shortly after this with all those delicious book spoilers!!Make sure to subscribe to Behind the Timeline for all of our newest updates and episodes! We made friends! We knew we could do it. That'll show you, Mr. Sampson... out here tellin' my mom he's concerned I'm anti-social and I like Power Rangers too mu-... y'know what, that's not why we're here. Anyway, we've partnered with another wonderful podcast, Isn't It Neat!, to bring you a timeline rewind in the form of 1992's "Strictly Ballroom", Baz Luhrmann's directorial debut! So, sit back, relax, and enjoy the fantastical collaboration that most-assuredly shan't be the last. (Saying "shan't" always makes me feel so fancy - I love you, Aziraphale!) Is this the longest title we've ever had? For an episode? Yes, probably. Was this movie, as Lindsay loves to say, "unhinged"? You better believe it was. Had she ever seen it? Nope! That's what made it all the more enjoyable, honestly. With a title that completely makes you think something different than what actually happens, a lead in the absolutely, outrageously gorgeous Christina Applegate and a plot that's... ... well it's actually pretty straight forward, what can we say? Queue John Williams and the mesmerizing helicopter fly over! No? This one doesn't have that? Okay, well then insert amazing longshot of beautiful scenery a-... we don't have that either? Well, what DO we have?! Inventive kills and a new segment we're calling "Dumb Ways to Die"? Alright, we'll take it. 1997's sequel to Steven Spielberg's smash hit, "The Lost World: Jurassic Park" once again pits very under-prepared humans against the vicious teeth and claws of 65-million year old adversaries! With Jeff Goldblum running the show, we're introduced to Julianne Moore, Vince Vaughn and Pete Postelthwaite's characters on a brand new island dubbed "Site B", where two different agendas play out! Is that how it should've gone? We don't think so. Make sure to subscribe to Behind the Timeline for all of our newest updates and episodes! So, Scott's outnumbered here. Or is he? Did Matt and Lindsay secretly change his mind not-so-secretly about this 1997 Luc Besson cult classic scifi adventure?! Starring Bruce Willis, Milla Jovovich and Gary Oldman, "The Fifth Element" has been touted as a refreshing break from otherwise typical space-faring adventure films of the age. But really - is it? Why is it so damn confusing then? Why are there three different bad guys? Why does Ruby Rhod just up and decide to join the group? What was the original plan for retrieving the stones from Plavalaguna!? I mean... these were definitely some of the questions asked throughout this episode, I tell you h'what!Make sure to subscribe to Behind the Timeline for all of our newest updates and episodes! A special shout out to start the final episode of '96?! You better believe it! And of course we're super happy to read any and all feedback we get so make sure you keep it comin' out way any time you've got a thought, comment, review or request! But also... EVERYBODY GET UP, IT'S TIME TO SPACE JAM!! We got a real review goin' down, welcome to the Space Jaaaaam! Alright (alright)! God this movie is weirdly entertaining in an era where animating fully grown adults being inflated by bike pumps looks horrendously irredeemable. Michael Jordan probably wasn't meant to act in anything longer than a 45 second ad, it's true, but somehow this movie doesn't really make you think that all too often. And of course, because it's Scott, obviously there's cartoon hilarity abound - seemingly endlessly, too. Come check it out!! It's Special Guest o'Clock! Andrew rejoins Scott to give Lindsay some time off from the actiony, popcorny-ness of arguably the greatest alien invasion flick of all time! Starring Bill Pullman, Jeff Goldblum and Will Smith, ID4 was '96's reigning champ in terms of box office gross and boy does it ever make sense! From the amazingly realistic use of SETI to teleporting airplanes, we break down everything you might or might not have noticed!!Make sure to subscribe to Behind the Timeline for all of our newest updates and episodes!
