Note sull'episodio

Before the first creature report, before the names preserved in folklore, this introductory episode opens the archive of Beasts of the Ancient World: Field Notes.

Written by Sascha Schmidt, this fictional horror documentary explains the central premise of the series: that some myths may not be inventions, but damaged records of living things once observed, feared, misnamed, and pushed out of natural history.

This is the foundation of the Field Notes: slow, atmospheric horror for sleep, built from folklore, hidden biology, archival fragments, old warnings, and the unsettling possibility that legend may have preserved evidence where scholarship saw only superstition.

What follows in future reports is not an invitation to believe. It is a ledger of names, traces, incidents, anatomies, behaviors, survivals, and mistakes. Myth becomes habitat. Superstition becomes warning. Folklore becomes the remains of an earlier science.
