The Friendless Friend OCD, The Lies We Believe BTS Of This Episode This week almost didn't happen. Six episodes in, quitting crossed my mind, but episode 10 is still the goal, so here we are, unfiltered and unscripted. Most of this episode is about my wild ride on X. What started as posting into the void with nine followers turned into a 92-day challenge, real growth, and eventually burnout that I ignored for way too long. There's a lesson in there about growth without burnout that I'm still learning to apply. Then come the stories. A supposed travel agency that turned out to be a full-blown scam, and a smooth-talking guy from a space who seemed perfect for a friend until he showed his true colors on a phone call. Both stories have their fair share of chaos and comedy. The experience sparked a deep dive into whether we can truly empathise with others when we are drowning in our own pain, and left some very hard questions about suffering, selfishness and the weight our pain can place on complete strangers. Back in university, finding a bundle of cash while hungry and broke with my roommate led to a decision that did not make my roommate happy at all. The story opens up a bigger conversation about integrity, empathy and whether doing the right thing even makes sense when you are the one who is suffering. One of my most embarrassing moments also makes an appearance, involving an ATM that electrocuted me in the middle of the night and the very undignified solution that came to mind to get my card back, because sometimes life is just that unserious.
