Kole Frank came by the Bandecdotes studio this week. He’s the vocalist of a Woodbridge based Metalcore band called Single Wound. They’ve been working hard for the last couple of years and they’re keeping that momentum up with a full-length in the works. We get talking about our favourite Pokemon, Kole teaches us a neat trick in case you’re ever cold at night, and shares the dangers of eating too many brownies. ⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️WATCH HERE⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️ Like and Subscribe below: Youtube.com/Bandecdotes -SUPPORT SINGLE WOUND HERE- BANDCAMP: https://singlewound.bandcamp.com/ SPOTIFY: https://open.spotify.com/artist/45NdlnaWFaG6bGqjFNvRde INSTAGRAM: https://www.instagram.com/singlewound/?hl=en YOUTUBE: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCJ_3L_tfEFlFsX5A91t1sEw Like, Subscribe, Follow, Rate & Review
Long time friends and bandmates Valarie Catharine and Scott Blake came by Bandecdotes this week. They have all sorts of projects going on right now. They have a Niagara local radio station called Thumb 92 FM. They also have been working on a cartoon together based on Valarie’s step-dad called Wars of Warlock Wayne. And on top of that they manage to find time to play music together in The Thumbs whether it be live or broadcasted over their twitch channel. I had a blast with these folks. We get talking about aliens, ghosts, and the 90’s Behind the Music sensation, O-Town. ⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️WATCH HERE⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️ Like and Subscribe below: Youtube.com/Bandecdotes SUPPORT HERE: THUMB 92 FM: https://thum92fm.com/ THE THUMBS: https://www.instagram.com/theopposables/ ATOM AND EVOLVE: https://www.twitch.tv/atomandevolve PENNY MOON PRODUCTIONS: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCSyVLr1Ln0LD0vVKj5FK_qA ATTERCLIFF AND THE PILLOWTALKERS: https://www.instagram.com/attercliffe_thepillowtalkers/ LASTLI: https://www.instagram.com/lastliofficial/ Like, Subscribe, Follow, Rate & Review
Ben Rispin pops on by the Bandecdotes studio this week to celebrate 420. Ben has been a pillar in the 905 music scene for a while now playing in bands, promoting shows, and podcasting. Nowadays he fronts a rad punk band called Rules that just played their record release show in Hamilton last Friday. We eat some edibles. Ben talks about how the drummer from Triumph mistook him for Steven Page of The Bare Naked Ladies, an Air Bud inspired CBD for dogs commercial, and Kanye-ing Finger Eleven at the Junos. ⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️WATCH HERE⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️ Like and Subscribe below: Youtube.com/Bandecdotes SUPPORT HERE: RULES: https://rulesareaband.bandcamp.com/ INTO THE WEEDS PODCAST: https://getintotheweeds.com/ Like, Subscribe, Follow, Rate & Review
I was so happy to have Casey Baker and Mike DaSilva come by this week. They’re too local legends here in Niagara. They played in Sleeper Set Sail back in the early 2000’s, grew up and apart for a bit, then rekindled their friendship over music once again. Mike has been working away behind the scenes since as a producer and recording engineer. While Casey has been focusing on being a dad and raising a family until recently where he’s gotten back into the music scene under his new moniker the “Neon Cowboy”. Together they’ve been working as The Particle Sound, a record label where they help propel talented local musicians. We had lots to chat about. Banana dogs, what it feels like to have battery acid in your eye, and playing for the ninja turtles in NYC. Carmen North and Johnny Dee came by the Bandecdotes studio to talk some band nonsense. They play in an awesome band called Shot Down Twice. We get talking about bandmates having meltdowns on stage, what are the best cartoons of the decade, and finding out Dua Lipa is actually an artist and not a language learning app. ⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️WATCH HERE⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️ Like and Subscribe below: Youtube.com/Bandecdotes SUPPORT THE BAND HERE: https://www.shotdowntwice.com/ Like, Subscribe, Follow, Rate & Review
This week I spoke with the very talented Ashlee Standish. She's sings in a band called Whatzername, plays piano with My Son The Hurricane, and on top of it all she's a piano teacher. Ashlee tells us about being pregnant, one of her bandmates falling asleep at the wheel, and possibly the most wholesome "Rockstar Dream Rider" answer we've ever had on Bandecdotes. ⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️WATCH HERE⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️ Like and Subscribe below: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YoMwR7JnjkM&feature=youtu.be SUPPORT HERE: ASHLEE STANDISH 𝕾𝖕𝖔𝖙𝖎𝖋𝖞: https://open.spotify.com/artist/0XKAGjKl3WYTuRyMjEPZGC?si=mfpphGe4QP2InRfT_z4gVw WHATZERNAME 𝕭𝖆𝖓𝖉𝖈𝖆𝖒𝖕: https://whatzername.bandcamp.com/releases 𝕾𝖕𝖔𝖙𝖎𝖋𝖞: https://open.spotify.com/artist/5rtyygQDiSRB0TzP8OWNx7?si=FqI7O_bzS026uaWLVwLFxA Like, Subscribe, Follow, Rate & Review

This week I sit down with the very knowledgeable Erik Dickson. He’s a hard working entrepreneur in the local St. Catharine’s scene running Indoor Shoes, Warehouse Concert Hall, Trust Beer Bar, and Cicda Fest. He was interesting to listen to being on the business side of event planning. We get talking about music festivals, Niagara’s glory days, and The Wiggles ⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️WATCH HERE⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️ Like and Subscribe below: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCx7pJVwif8GhEFFa-eF1NLw SUPPORT THE BUSINESSES: WAREHOUSE CONCERT HALL: http://www.warehouseniagara.com/ TRUST BEER BAR: https://trust-beer-bar.myshopify.com/ Like, Subscribe, Follow, Rate & Review If you're in an active band from Ontario and play metal, hardcore, screamo, punk, or alternative and want to be featured on the podcast contact me at bandecdotes@gmail.com
This week I spoke with the one and only Sam Crowley. That's right. I know what you're thinking. "Isn't that the dude Ozzy sang about?" The answer is yes, yes it is. Sam plays in The Electric Dead, Temple of Night, and The Wake all throughout Niagara. We talk about the new Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Kendo, and a gig that turned out to be quite the "shit" show. Tune in this week to hear all about it! ⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️WATCH HERE⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️ Like and Subscribe below: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCx7pJVwif8GhEFFa-eF1NLw ⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️SUPPORT THE BAND HERE⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️ 𝕭𝖆𝖓𝖉𝖈𝖆𝖒𝖕: THE ELECTRIC DEAD: https://electricdead.bandcamp.com/ TEMPLE OF NIGHT: https://templeofnight.bandcamp.com/ 𝕾𝖕𝖔𝖙𝖎𝖋𝖞: THE ELECTRIC DEAD: https://open.spotify.com/artist/0LGW4CofKnrHLGMn8HxTTl TEMPLE OF NIGHT: https://open.spotify.com/artist/7f1hfJdp7lAJuAaVLHohof?si=rZiMLpFjSGStXQWp9fZ5cw THE WAKE: https://open.spotify.com/artist/1VFODCE0HPv8yzt7SV703B Like, Subscribe, Follow, Rate & Review If you're in an active band from Ontario and play metal, hardcore, screamo, punk, or alternative and want to be featured on the podcast contact me at bandecdotes@gmail.com
