The Border Gambit

Desperation breeds bold moves—and none bolder than this. With Atlas preparing a nuclear deployment, Jimmy, Klara, Graves, and Powell make a high-stakes decision: cross the border into East Germany, no cover, no backup, and no way back.

Their only leverage? Lukas Reiner, former Atlas operative, possible defector, and full-time pain in the ass. But as the train nears Checkpoint Alpha, tension boils over. Reiner panics—and nearly blows the entire operation.

What follows is chaos: a betrayal, a fight, a shouted accusation of “AMERICANS! SPIES!” loud enough to wake the entire GDR border patrol. With guards closing in, the team executes a last-ditch escape—leaping from the train and disappearing into the East German night.

They’ve crossed the line—literally and figuratively. Now they’re in hostile territory, with no support, an unpredictable asset, and the full weight of Atlas bearing down. Every decision from here on out is a gamble. And the stakes? Europe.
