Intentional Spatial Healing
Episode 6 Intentional Spatial Healing Welcome once again to WheelHouse Art’s Art by Volume, presented by the Wine Room by J. Bell Wine Co. It was my pleasure to wrap up this season with an interview featuring Natalie Officer of Natalie O Designs. As an interior designer, Natalie uses her expertise to curate spaces tailored to the needs of each individual client she works with. She also intentionally works with local artists and craftsfolk to add art, color, furniture and other design elements that bring the vision to life. We spoke on the topics of space and its impact on how we live life, healing processes, artistic collaboration, family, and the imbalance of life. If you have any comments, questions, or thoughts, send us an email at abv@wheelhouse.art We’d love to hear from you! Special thanks to our sponsors: The Wine Room by J Bell Wine Co. The Right Fit
Episode 5 The Right Fit Welcome back to WheelHouse Art’s, Art by Volume, presented by the Wine Room by J. Bell Wine Co! This conversation with Cathy Shannon of E&S gallery was truly a pleasure, and I’m glad to be able to share it with you. We spoke about her experience running the esteemed gallery with her husband Walter, who started the business in 1989. As Louisville’s only Black owned gallery, Cathy has a unique point of view of the art world and shared some wonderful insight during our chat. No matter what you do in this crazy world, just keep going and don’t stop until you find your right fit! Living with Local Art
Before meeting our next guests, Larry Shapin and Ladonna Nicolas, I had never been to a home that was filled with art wall to wall. There was work in the living room, dining room, bedroom, bathroom, kitchen, and everywhere else in between! Not only that, but they’ve had to make space on the property to build more gallery space over the years as they acquired more work. The best part is, 99% of the work was created by local artists. It was incredible! In this episode I chat with Larry and Ladonna about their unique collection, the different art adventures they immerse themselves in, the importance of appreciating local art, and the joys of collecting. Welcome to Episode 4 of Wheelhouse Art’s Art by Volume, presented by the Wine Room by JBell Wine Co. Episode 3 Pure Vision, Kind Intention, and A Humble Heart Welcome back to WheelHouse Art’s Art by Volume, presented by The Wine Room by J Bell Wine Co! I’m excited to share this conversation with Photographer/Photojournalist, Jon Cherry. It was fun learning about his process, how he started his career, what he’s learned along the way, and his perspective on News and human nature. His humility and sensitivity really shine through his photographs as he captures the truth in the emotion of each moment. I hope you enjoy this episode and are able to catch his show, Be the People: Portraits of Contemporary America, open now through July at the Norton Center for the Arts on the Center College campus in Danville, Kentucky! Grassroots Art History
Hello, and welcome back to WheelHouse Art’s Art by Volume, presented by The Wine Room by J Bell Wine Co! Join me as I sit down with local curator Dr. fari nzinga! In this episode we have a powerful discussion about her artistic journey, the deeply talented and influential artist Gloucester Caliman (G.C.) Coxe and his exhibition, part of the series, Louisville’s Black Avant-Garde, and the importance of community especially when artists tell their stories and share them with the world. Everything starts when we connect with intention, and no one does anything worth doing alone. Louisville’s Black Avant-Garde is on view now through September 7, 2025 and the Speed Art Museum! You don’t want to miss this show! If you have any comments, questions, or thoughts, send us an email at abv@wheelhouse.art We’d love to hear from you!
