Although not all the answers were given during the main climax of the story, Hastie Lanyon has more answers than what one would think. Perhaps it is better to leave what you wish to know alone, before entering the grave. It saves you the time from getting that which burdens you to lay beside you in the grave. lord knows, there will be grave robbers to take that as well!

AaAD | The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde Pt. 2

Poor, poor Gabriel Utterson, sitting there feeling useless as his friend goes the Devil's way... This is the 2/4 of the Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde story, written by Robert Louis Stevenson. This portion carries the very climax, the most eventful of the story, but also, it gives no answers. And answers are something human beings like to have after the hassle of dealing with nonsense and taxes. In this case, this part of the story tells the ending to a story, that deals more with lore of what happened. We learn about an ending, the only reliable and likely ending. the probability of what happens is the gross majority; losing the one you care about to a lifestyle you cannot save them from, for they do not want to be saved. The story of Jekyll and Hyde touches me on a level, as I have had people I am close to have their lives destroyed by such situations. The questionings, the judging out of need to protect them from themselves, the anger and shame that comes from them when you bring up the problem they cannot see... Many lives I've seen go through it, and in a way, this story is, to me, an anthology to that very problem that every person should know to acknowledge. I don't care if you think it can't happen to you. I care about if it happens to you at all. Gabriel Utterson is the archetype of the individual who believes if they intervene that they can save the person they love. His unfortunate ignorance did not teach him, that the people who came to him in the end, had no one else to turn to, yet a stranger accepted them as still human. Most who are at their worst feel less than human, so when humanity is given to them, it can breathe life back inside their hollow vessel--ONLY if they wish to change, as conformity is human nature. Giving someone humanity while they act inhuman grants them a God complex....

Robert Blake is a college student who is an occult fan. Not exactly into it, but still curious. As curious as he is, that doesn't justify breaking and entering, and whomever is wanting Blake to return to scene of the crime, isn't exactly the police.
