Big Tech Signs White House Accord to Self-Police AI

President Trump and leaders from OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, Meta, Nvidia, and xAI signed the White House Accord on Super Intelligence — a voluntary, "morally binding" pact committing frontier labs to robust internal controls, an internal monitoring team, independent external auditors, and an independent board committee for remediation. The same day, Trump signed an executive order directing federal agencies to say "Super Intelligence" or "SI" instead of AI, with a definition due in 60 days. Trump said he would name an overseer and about a 10-person committee; the accord leaves open eventual laws but sets no frequencies, definitions of "robust," or legal liability.
