- Joash repairs the temple while Jehoiada lives, then turns to idols after Jehoiada dies and has Zechariah stoned.

- The Arameans defeat Judah. Joash is wounded and assassinated, and is not buried with the kings.

Joel 1:1 - 3:21

- A locust plague strips the land. Joel calls the people to weep, fast, and return to the Lord.

- The day of the Lord is near. God promises to restore what the locusts ate, pour out his Spirit, and judge the nations.

2 Corinthians 11:16 - 12:10

- Paul boasts as a fool of beatings, shipwrecks, and dangers, then of a man caught up to the third heaven.

- A thorn in the flesh remains so he will not boast, and the Lord says his power is made perfect in weakness.
