Ep. 44 | Saints vs. Vikings RECAP - We are not in a Good Place...

The struggles for the Saints in Minnesota continue, and even though this past game involved a "comeback" which fell short, damn, the issues from top to bottom for the Saints are as GLARING as ever. Nothing brings out the debate, the anger, and passion more than a terrible loss like this one. This episode is no exception to that as Max, Nick, and Corey have A LOT to get into based on the team's performance in the game - but also - the team's complete inability to take advantage of a critical juncture in the season where they A) could have really taken a stranglehold on the NFC South going into the bye week/ATL game; and B) could have built on what had appeared to be some positive progress on offense and fixed the slow starts on defense. Obviously - none of those extremely hopeful things happened. We also get into how losses like this, at this point in the season, bring out the absolute WORST in terms of fan takes, misguided opinions, irrational heard mentality behind one particular player - to name a FEW. The Saints streets are hot right now based on yet another terrible performance and we're right there on those streets letting it out too. LISTEN IN for a most necessary episode of the 28 to 3 Podcast. WHO DAT?!

Ep. 43 | SAINTS vs. VIKINGS PREVIEW POD - A Chance to Take Control - #NOSKOL #BEATTHEVIKINGS

Our Saints are coming off their second straight win, and there's obviously a lot that can be improved upon from the Bears performance; but can the Black and Gold keep the winning momentum going at this most critical juncture. A win before the bye could set them up for a game against the Falcons that could give them the opportunity to put a stranglehold on the Division. Can we do it? Can they flatten the Dobbs wave the Vikings seemed to have caught last week in Atlanta? We get into that and discuss how we think we stack up against the Vikings to make that happen. ALSO - BONUS CONTENT - In this episode, we take our first "MAIL BAG" question. Listener submitted, asking us to make a choice between two different potential Saints records at the end of the year. It definitely got the debate GOING and heated at times. HINT: The question - and our answers (plus probably yours) - pits feelings about Dennis Allen "not being the guy" to lead the team where it needs to go (if you feel that way) VERSUS what might be the strength of your true fanhood and price you'd pay to see the Saints win no matter what. LISTEN IN to find out what the question is and hear us debate it. Definitely a MUST LISTEN episode. WHO DAT?! BEAT THE VIKINGS! #NOSKOL

Ep. 42 | SAINTS WIN - BEARS RECAP - Debating how we're feeling after this one.

The Saints got a much needed win to get ABOVE the .500 mark, now sitting at 5-4 and in FIRST PLACE in the NFC South. As always we talk about the good and bad from the game, but we debate whether this is a "win's a win" situation or were there things in this one that raise concern about the team moving forward? Regardless, we are going to enjoy this one, enjoy the fact that we got back over the .500 hump in the record, and got to the top of the division standings after not being too far removed from the type of play that got us thinking such a spot in the standings was unrealistic. What areas does the team have to improve on moving forward? Also, holy Paulson Adebo! A stat line not matched since Charles Woodson's time. We needed EVERY ONE of the FIVE turnovers forced by the Saints D, but at the end of the day, our Saints got the W, and we'll take it. LISTEN IN as Max, Corey, and Nick find a lot to argue about even after a Saints win. WHO DAT?!

Ep. 41 | SAINTS vs. BEARS PREVIEW POD

We get you ready for the Saints matchup with the Chicago Bears in the DOME. We all agree that this game is huge for the Saints, and despite any struggles the Bears may be going through, is not one to be overlooked. They have multiple opportunities on the table - a) the offense has the opportunity to string together multiple strong performances in a row/show us they can be consistent, b) the team has the opportunity to get back to a winning record, which means Dennis Allen has the opportunity to show he's capable of coaching a team to a winning record nine games into a season, and c) the defense has the opportunity to show it can start fast after a couple recent games of allowing opponents to score early in games. We also discuss the biggest thing we need to see out of the Saints to show they can get the season back on track - that is: consistency. Overall, this is an opportunity to show they can follow a strong performance with another strong performance and not follow see-saw, good-game/bad-game pattern. Simply put, they need to take care of business in front of the home crowd, coming off of a big win. LISTEN IN to get our always opinionated takes on what to expect with this matchup. WHO DAT?!

Ep. 40 | SAINTS WIN - Colts RECAP POD - Has HOPE Re-entered the Chat?

Our Saints went on the road and got a decisive WIN over the Colts in Indy, and our offense came to life, showing the Who Dat Nation what we all believed - or hoped - it could be all offseason and leading up to this juncture in the season. Was this the signal that the Saints offense now "has it together"? - or - Do we still need to see more, or at least need to see the Saints offense do it again before we say "they've figured it out"? We dive deep into that issue on this RECAP POD of the Saints beatdown of the Colts; as usual, we find many areas of disagreement on that idea. We talk about the things we liked/didn't like from the win, and which Saints players on both offense and defense we think performed well, as well as those who we think still have a LOT of room for improvement. LISTEN IN for another great episode, recapping a great Saints WIN that still features PLENTY of back and forth and disagreement between co-hosts Max, Nick, and Corey. WHO DAT?!

Ep. 39 | REFRESHING THE FEED! Colts vs. Saints PREVIEW POD - BEACH RECORDING!

We come to you with this recording back where it all started (in a way). Recorded this one in Destin, FL at our annual beach trip where co-hosts Max, Nick, and Corey started really started debating and arguing any take they had basically related to Saints football. Think yelling about "whether Brandin Cooks can high point a ball or would we have been better off with a Kelvin Benjamin?". Listen in for who was on that side of the argument. Other than that, we do still have a game on Sunday, so we get into a brief preview of the Saints vs. Colts matchup. We cover that and a whole lot more in this beach location recording. LISTEN IN!

Ep. 38 | RECAP "PLUS" Episode - Saints vs. Jags, plus Necessary Conversations about the Team as a Whole

It's Sunday, and after the last two games, it was unfortunately a relief that it was a Sunday WITHOUT Saints football. Since we hadn't recorded since the Thursday Night Debacle in the Dome, we do provide somewhat of a "Recap" in this one; HOWEVER, given the state of affairs...we get into a whole lot more. We talk about certain individual efforts in the Jags game - yes, Carr, Olave, and the infamous 3rd down overthrow/temper tantrum - but we bring instances like that up not for "X's and O's" but for what they represent as a whole and how they unfortunately seem indicative of much larger problems within the organization - problems on the field, which we believe, fall squarely on one man - the head coach - Dennis Allen. Yes, others under him have CLEARLY failed to do their jobs thus far *ahem* Carmichael, but at the end of the day, the buck stops with the guy who put him there - again, Dennis Allen. At the end of this episode, we think at this point you can guess the overarching message you'll come away with...FIRE. DENNIS. ALLEN. If you disagree with that message, listen in and determine how it is you think it's the wrong message. WHO DAT?!

Ep. 37 | Saints vs. Jags PREVIEW POD - Can the Saints bounce back on a short week?

No rest for the weary! After what seems like only hours after that gut-wrenching loss in Houston, the Saints take on the Jags on Thursday Night Football, thankfully at least, it's in the DOME. Can they dig deep and show something, even pull out a win in front of the home crowd? We give our answers and predictions on that question - some of which may surprise you. It's seems inevitable that we'll be rolling out a patchwork at best offensive line for this one (thanks to injuries) - how will the Saints handle a weakened version of what was already their weakest position group? Could we possibly see more quick passing routes to...ya know...the MIDDLE of the field? Maybe less go routes due to less time to throw? Corey even has some wild predictions about what play calls he thinks we'll see. (Losing does things even to the best of us...). We all at least agree that the defense HAS to carry the team in this one if we want to pull out the W! We cover all of it and more in this one, as we get ready for this quick turnaround for a prime time game in the Dome! WHO DAT?!

Ep. 36 | RECAP - Saints vs. Texans - Back to life...back to reality (mostly reality)

JUST when we thought that "maybe" we had something to build from on offense after the beatdown of the Patriots, the Saints same offensive woes from earlier games reared their ugly head again against the Texans. Whatever good vibes we let creep in after the Pats game are now swiftly erased. We do the dirty work in this episode of recapping what was an awful loss, all around. We all agree that not many are able to escape blame in this one; but as usual, we find plenty of ground for disagreement on the next steps forward. What is the fix? A lot was said by players post-game about accountability. We do our favorite thing that Saints podcasters tend to do and take a stab as to "who" or "what" guys like Derek Carr, Alvin Kamara, and Demario Davis were talking about in their post-game pressers. Who specifically needs to step it up? Who do we need to part ways with and when? We cover a TON of ground in this one. Listen in to hear our takes and hear us VENT in this latest episode. WHO DAT?!

Ep. 35 | *PREVIEW* POD - Saints vs. Texans WEEK 6 - *But really* Preview Pod *PLUS* "State of the Saints Running Backs" Impromptu Pod.

Coming off a MUCH needed win in Foxborough, the Saints travel down I-10, for a much closer-to-home "away" game, to take on the Houston Texans. We aren't fooled by the "rookie" moniker placed on C.J. Stroud. That man is playing like a VET right, so should the Saints prep for him as such? We dive right into what we think we need to see and give our PREDICTIONS for this Week 6 matchup against the team from Houston. BUT...as Max and Corey sometimes can't help themselves - debate ensues in this episode...We give you MORE than you could ever want - in terms of debating, flushing out, and (perhaps "over") analyzing the Saints Running Back position going forward this year. Is Kendre Miller a 15+ carry a game RB? or is he better utilized in the passing game - even though - his college tape doesn't show much usage in that roll? IS Jamaal Williams the guy to fit the "ground and pound" role, or should more reps go to Kendre so he can gain more comfort and instinct carrying the rock as an NFL running back? We all know Kamara's role - INDISPENSABLE - but, how much many years can we keep him as our main man, and CAN Kendre fill any future void left by AK?This one truly is a MUST LISTEN - Call it a "Signature Episode" of the 28 to 3 Podcast.
