He Cooked in Michelin-Starred Kitchens. His Kid Wants Nuggets.
Notas del episodio
What happens when a Michelin-trained chef becomes the dad of a picky eater?
Chef Andy Knudson has spent more than 20 years in professional kitchens, working in Michelin-starred restaurants, cooking alongside some of the biggest names in food, and eventually entering the wild world of private chefs for ultra-wealthy clients. But none of that prepared him for his toughest customer yet: his 3½-year-old daughter.
Andy joins Ali Khan and Neil Padover to talk about raising two young kids, the reality of picky eating, why dinosaur nuggets and string cheese sometimes beat Dad’s cooking, and how becoming a father ultimately pushed him to leave traditional restaurant life in search of something he desperately wanted: more time with his family.
They also get into the hidden world of private chefs, surviving on no sleep, parenting through tantrums and big emotions, what professional kitchens taught Andy about raising kids, postpartum support for moms and dads, and why simply being there may be the most important thing a father can do.
Plus: Andy’s Austin food hot takes, the Dad Lightning Round, whole-hog cooking, queso, Hank Hill, and the one parenting motto every dad can understand.
World’s Greatest Dad is a fatherhood podcast hosted by Ali Khan and Neil Padover about parenting, dads, family, relationships, food, careers, and trying to figure it all out as we go.
