The September 1, 2026 Job Openings and Labor Turnover Survey from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics reported approximately 7.3 million U.S. job openings and 5.1 million hires during July. Durable-goods Manufacturing openings increased by 76,000 to approximately 429,000. Total Manufacturing openings reached approximately 580,000, while Manufacturers recorded about 288,000 hires.
