Mark 2:23–4:34
Twice in one day, the Sabbath becomes a battleground — first over a handful of grain picked in a field, then over a withered hand healed in the synagogue — and the question of who the Sabbath is actually for hangs in the air. As crowds grow too large to manage, Jesus climbs a mountain and comes back down with twelve men who will carry everything forward after him. Religious leaders from Jerusalem accuse him of working for the devil himself, and his own family arrives, worried he’s lost his mind. By the time evening falls, he’s sitting in a boat just off the shore, telling stories about seeds, soil, and a kingdom that grows in ways no one can fully explain.
We are in a Mark-John Harmony. Today’s episode covers: Mark 2:23–4:34 (Sabbath controversies in the grainfield and synagogue, the choosing of the twelve apostles, accusations of demonic power, and the parables of the sower, the lamp, the growing seed, and the mustard seed).
