What are the kitchen trends for 2027? The NKBA 2027 Kitchen Trends Report surveyed 830 kitchen professionals, and the biggest change is size: only 52% now expect kitchen footprints to grow, down from 76% last year. Kitchens are getting smarter instead of bigger.
Chris and Jessica from USA Cabinet Store go through every number: 81% say intentional zoning is here to stay, 47% call the back kitchen up-and-coming, 85% say cabinetry is being designed to hide appliances, 64% say open shelving is declining, neutrals lead color at 96%, white oak is the top wood at 49%, and quartzite (78%) now edges quartz (74%). Plus lighting inside the cabinets, leak detection and backup power, a measured take on AI appliances, and where to spend first.
