[§201] Rev 12:7: Apostasy Ends and War Begins in Heaven

This podcast explains John's vision from Revelation 12:7, where he saw the war in heaven that began when the premortal church of God was restored on Kolob from the wilderness of God's celestial residence. This occurred in the likeness of the restoration of the church on earth in 1830. The war in heaven was a literal war between armies led by Lucifer (the Dragon), on the one hand, and Michael the Archangel, on the other hand. This was not a physical war that involved bloodshed. It was an ideological war between premortal spirits and spiritual death was the consequence to those who succumbed to the lies and half-truths of Lucifer and his sons of Perdition. During this conflict, the missionary armies of Michael and Lucifer contended for the undecided and lukewarm spirits that failed to commit themselves either to Jesus Christ or to Lucifer during the grand council on Kolob. During the war in heaven there could be no neutrality. Spirits that made and kept gospel covenants kept their first estate and could progress to a second estate where they received a physical body. Those that failed to make and keep gospel covenants kept not their first estate and were denied a second estate. Lucifer's objective during the war in heaven was to destroy faith in Jesus Christ. He and his rebellious followers were antichrist and they have their likeness in earthly antichrists described in the book of Mormon.

[§200] Start of Premortal Apostasy and Physical Creation

This podcast describes the physical creation of countless worlds by Jehovah (Jesus Christ) This discussion of the creation is placed in the context of other events in premortality after the grand council in heaven, including the premortal apostasy and the war in heaven. Many noble and great spirits participated in the creative activities of Jesus Christ, including Michael the Archangel. The physical creation began during the premortal apostasy that lasted 1260 Kolob years (453.6 earth years). During this time, physical worlds of the telestial and terrestrial order were created in ascending order of intelligence. When the war in heaven began, physical worlds of the celestial order were created in their ascending order of intelligence to be the habitation for mortal humans during their second estate. This podcast also describes how the premortal apostasy prepared God's undecided spirit children from the grand council to make and keep gospel covenants once the premortal church of God was restored to Kolob when the war in heaven began. As God's undecided spirit children made gospel covenants, they kept their first estate and were appointed to dwell on the countless celestial worlds that Christ physically created during the war in heaven.

[§199] Rev 12:6: The Premortal Apostasy in Heaven

This podcast explains and interprets the signs, symbols and images found in Revelation 12:6. This verse describes the premortal apostasy in heaven on Kolob that began after the rebellion of Lucifer during the grand council in heaven, before the war in heaven began in Revelation 12:7. Revelation 12:6 tells us that after Lucifer’s rebellion, the woman representing the premortal church fled into the wilderness. The wilderness represents the celestial residence of God where his throne is located. In this symbolic wilderness, the noble and great spirits who were members of the premortal church were nurtured in the presence of God for 1260 days of years. These 1260 Kolob years are equal to 453.6 million years on earth where one day with God in heaven is as a thousand years on earth. The sign of the premortal apostasy in heaven on Kolob has its likeness on earth during the Great Apostasy during the dark ages. As the dark ages were a time of spiritual darkness and suffering among mankind, so also the 1260 Kolob years of premortal apostasy on Kolob were a time of spiritual darkness when the undecided spirit children of God from the grand council were in the bondage of sin and were tormented by Lucifer on Kolob to aid in the process of their repentance.

[§198] Rev 12:5: The Man Child Is Born to Rule All Nations

This podcast explains and interprets the images and symbolism found in Revelation 12:5. In this verse, the woman representing the premortal church of God brought forth a man child. The child represents Jehovah (Jesus Christ) at the time he was elevated to godhood and assumed his position as the Creator and Redeemer with the sustaining vote and common consent of the membership of the premortal church of God. In all these capacities, Christ was metaphorically born to rule all nations with a rod of iron, which is the word of God. His rule would be firm and unyielding but also benevolent like a shepherd. After the birth of the manchild, he was caught up unto God’s throne, which means he was taken up from the grand council on Kolob to the throne of God on God’s celestial residence. The glorified Christ could not remain on Kolob following Lucifer's rebellion because Kolob became spiritually unclean.

[§197] Rev 12:4: One-third of the Stars in Heaven Spiritually Fall

This podcast explains and interprets the images and symbols used by John in Revelation 12:4 to explain Lucifer's rebellion during the grand council in heaven. In this verse, the tail of the Dragon drew the third part of the stars of heaven to his rebellion. This means a third of God’s spirit children rebelled and experienced a spiritual fall as Lucifer did. The stars of heaven (God's fallen spirit children) were cast to the earth. This means they spiritually died and could no longer be in the presence of God, but they remained in their premortal first estate. After their rebellion, the Dragon and his followers continued to stand before the woman (premortal church of God) when she was ready to deliver the manchild identified in Revelation 12:5. The premortal church metaphorically delivered Jehovah (Jesus Christ) as the creator, redeemer and head of the church of God when the membership of that premortal church voted by common consent to accept and sustain Christ in all these capacities. Christ was elevated to godhood by the vote of the church membership. In this way the woman (premortal church) metaphorically gave birth to Christ as the manchild. After the sustaining vote occurred during the premortal grand council, the Dragon stood before the woman to devour the child. This means that Lucifer and his followers sought to destroy the faith of God’s spirit children in Jesus Christ and in the father's plan of salvation generally.

[§196] Rev 12:3: The Sign of the Red Dragon [Lucifer]

This podcast explains and interprets the images and symbols used by John in Revelation 12:3 to describe Lucifer and his rebellious followers in the premortal existence as another wonder or sign in heaven. The great red dragon in this verse symbolizes Lucifer at the time of the grand council in heaven. The Dragon is identified as another sign in heaven. The first sign in heaven is the image of a woman representing the premortal church of God in Revelation 12:1. She was glorious and beautiful, but the Dragon is red in color to identify his destructive and bloodthirsty character. The symbol is dynamic and is used by John in subsequent verses to identify Satan’s power and influence on earth. Scholars often misinterpret the Dragon in Revelation 12:4 as a symbol for the ancient Roman empire. Rome is merely an earthly likeness of Lucifer's presence in the premortal existence. The Dragon has seven heads and seven crowns upon those heads. These images represent Lucifer’s power and regal authority that he once had before he rebelled during the grand council. The image of the great red dragon also had 10 horns. Horns represent power. The number ten (10) represents the whole of a part or part of a whole. Thus, Satan had incredible power in premortality, but he did not have the fulness or whole of God's power.

[§195] Rev 12:2: The Woman with Child Travails Giving Birth

This podcast explains the images and symbolism found in Revelation 12:2. This verse continues the description of the great sign of a woman in heaven who represents the premortal church of God which has her likeness on earth. In verse 2, John could see that the glorious woman was pregnant and travailing in birth. This imagery symbolizes the rebellion of Lucifer during the grand Council in heaven on Kolob. His rebellion came as Jehovah (Jesus Christ) was chosen by the father to become the creator, redeemer, and head of God's church and eternal government. Christ is the man child identified in Revelation 12:5, and the woman (premortal church) gave birth to this governor as the church membership voted for him and sustained him as he was born or elevated to rule with a rod of iron. Jehovah’s birth or elevation to godhood was a time of great pain and sorrow in heaven among God's righteous spirit children called the sons of God. They shouted for joy at the prospect of moving forward with the plan of salvation and the physical creation. They were greatly saddened, however, by the loss of one third of all God's spirit children when Lucifer rebelled during the grand council. These circumstances are symbolized in the images of a pregnant woman in travail. The symbol of the pregnant woman who gives birth to the manchild after much travail has been subject to many interpretations. Some say the woman represents Mary the mother of Jesus. Some say this scene is set in the time of the Second Coming. This podcast analyzes these various views and explains why these other interpretations are problematic.

[§194] Rev 12:1: The Sign of the Woman Is the Premortal Church

This podcast explains the images and symbolism found in Revelation 12:1. This verse identifies the great sign of a woman in heaven who represents the premortal church of God. This great sign has its likenesses on earth, including the church organized by Christ in the meridian of time. God the father organized this church at the time of the grand council in heaven on Kolob when Jesus Christ was chosen to be the creator and Redeemer before the foundations of this earth were laid. God's spirit children who had faith in Jesus Christ became members of this premortal church and were called the sons of God. God’s spirit children who rebelled with Lucifer became members of the premortal church of the devil and were called sons of Perdition. The woman is dressed in the sun to symbolize her light-filled countenance. She stands on the moon to represent her dominion over all lesser kingdoms. She has a crown of 12 stars that represent the 12 tribes of Israel, not the 12 apostles of Jesus Christ. The crown represents her royal status and her right to rule and reign in the house of Israel forever.

[§193] Jehovah Was the Physical Creator in This Generation

This podcast describes the physical creation carried out by Jesus Christ on this world and many other worlds in this universe, including telestial worlds and terrestrial worlds, based on the Order of Creation. The likely sequence of creation is set forth for countless worlds, plants, animals, and the first Adam and the first Eve on the many celestial worlds created by Jesus Christ (Jehovah). The timing of the physical creation is explained from the end of the grand council through the end of the war in heaven. The seven periods of creation lasting 1000 years each are explained and how that timing fits into the creative sequence involving multiple worlds consecutively created by Jesus Christ. God the Father also had a role in the physical creation when he became the literal father of the physical bodies of Adam and Eve as an act of procreation with a heavenly mother.

[§191] The Grand Council in Heaven on Kolob

To better understand the spiritual fall of Lucifer when he rebelled during the grand council in heaven on Kolob, this podcast compares Lucifer's fall with the fall of Adam in the garden of Eden. The fall of Lucifer foreshadows the fall of Adam. Before the fall of Lucifer, the premortal first estate was a sinless environment where God's innocent spirit children dwelt in his presence. There was agency, but no accountability. The same is true of Adam and Eve's dwelling in the garden of Eden prior to the fall of Adam. When Adam fell, all of creation fell with him. Thereafter, he and Eve could no longer be in God's presence. That was also true of the premortal conditions when Lucifer fell. The two separate falls brought an end to innocence in their respective spheres. The opposition and uncleanness in both environments fostered growth and both falls were a fall forward in the eternal progress of mankind.
