[§195] Rev 12:2: The Woman with Child Travails Giving Birth

This podcast explains the images and symbolism found in Revelation 12:2. This verse continues the description of the great sign of a woman in heaven who represents the premortal church of God which has her likeness on earth. In verse 2, John could see that the glorious woman was pregnant and travailing in birth. This imagery symbolizes the rebellion of Lucifer during the grand Council in heaven on Kolob. His rebellion came as Jehovah (Jesus Christ) was chosen by the father to become the creator, redeemer, and head of God's church and eternal government. Christ is the man child identified in Revelation 12:5, and the woman (premortal church) gave birth to this governor as the church membership voted for him and sustained him as he was born or elevated to rule with a rod of iron.
