Finding My Way Back to Church

For a long time, church was something I went to because I had to, not because I wanted to. Growing up, my grandparents would threaten us if we didn’t go, and my relationship with God was often more about praying when I desperately needed something than genuinely seeking Him. But about eight years ago, something changed. I was invited to a new church, and that experience completely changed the way I viewed church, community, and my relationship with God. In this episode, I share my personal journey with church, the experiences that shaped the way I viewed it, and how finding the right church community had such an incredible impact on my life and my family's life. And I want to challenge you: if you've experienced church hurt, disappointment, or have simply never felt like you belonged, don't give up. Dig into that hurt. Work through it. And be willing to find a church community where you can grow, ask questions, build relationships, and pursue God alongside people who genuinely want to do the same. Maybe church isn't the problem. Big Feelings Can Be A Big Problem

I’m a big feelings girl. I love big. I care big. I get excited big. And honestly, I think that’s one of the beautiful things about being me But sometimes, big feelings can become a big problem. In this episode, I’m talking about the beauty of feeling deeply while also getting honest about what happens when our feelings start to run the show. When disappointment keeps us from moving forward. When fear keeps us from doing what we know we’re supposed to do. When we let how we feel outweigh what we know. When our emotions become an excuse to stay stuck instead of choosing obedience, discipline, or simply doing the next right thing. In this raw and deeply honest episode, I sit down with Brady and Sara Hand to talk about their journey through faith, marriage, infertility, loss, failed IVF, and embryo adoption. Are You Staying In Your Lane?

In this episode, we’re talking about the importance of staying in your lane, recognizing the gifts you’ve been given, understanding the purpose you’ve been called to, and having the wisdom to know what belongs to you and what doesn’t. It’s so easy to veer into someone else’s lane. We start comparing or feeling guilty. We say yes when we should say no. We take on responsibilities that aren’t ours. We fill our calendars with unnecessary commitments, and before we know it, we’re exhausted, distracted, and stretched too thin. And the truth is, staying in your lane doesn’t mean you don’t care about other people or things. It means you understand that you cannot be everything to everyone and do it well. We’re taking this conversation into the areas where it matters most: marriage, friendships, work, motherhood, and personal growth. What does it actually look like to stay in your lane? How do you recognize when you’ve veered out of it? And what happens when you finally give yourself permission to focus on what you need to in the particular season you are in. Discomfort Isn’t Bad: What Back-to-School Can Teach Us About the Things We Can’t Control

Back-to-school comes with so many things we can control: the backpack we choose, what we wear, how we look, and the excitement of seeing friends again. But what about everything we can’t control? We don’t know our teachers yet. We don’t know how the school year will go. We don’t know what challenges or changes might come our way. And sometimes, those unknowns can keep us up at night. In this episode, I’m talking about the discomfort that comes with not knowing and how easy it is to cheer our kids on as they step into something new while forgetting to cheer ourselves on when we’re uncomfortable, uncertain, or anxious. We often think discomfort is something we need to get rid of. We want to get back to what feels familiar and comfortable as quickly as possible. But discomfort isn’t bad. Sometimes, it’s simply a sign that we’re stepping into something new. So as we encourage our kids through another school year, this episode is also an invitation to remember, Discomfort isn’t bad. Don’t Let Your Story Die With You

Two years ago this month, I launched my book, From Zero to Four. As I reflect on that journey and continue to receive messages from people sharing how my book and my story have impacted them, I’ve been reminded of just how powerful it can be to share the parts of our lives that feel the hardest to talk about. There was a point while writing my book when I froze. Sharing my story felt scary, vulnerable, and incredibly uncomfortable. Part of me wanted to stay in that place of comfort, to leave certain chapters unwritten and keep the most vulnerable pieces of my life to myself. But if I had stayed frozen, those pages wouldn’t exist. The words someone needed to read wouldn’t be there. The story that was meant to encourage someone else wouldn’t have reached them. And maybe you have a story like that, too. Maybe there’s something you’ve lived through, learned, overcome, or experienced that you’ve been afraid to share. Maybe your knowledge, your mistakes, your testimony, or your perspective could be exactly what someone else needs to hear. In this episode, I’m sharing a reminder I’ve had to give myself again and again: don’t let what you know or what you’ve lived through die with you. Step outside of your comfort zone. Tell the story. Share the lesson. Write the book. Start the conversation. What Flock Of Yours Needs To Go?

We got baby chicks, and like most things that start small and adorable, we didn’t think too much about what would happen when they grew up. But then they grew. And grew. And suddenly, as we looked toward winter, we realized something: our flock was too big for our coop. There simply wasn’t enough room for all of them to comfortably make it through the next season. So, we made the difficult decision to let eight of our chickens go to new homes. And this little chicken situation started making me think about our own lives. Sometimes we enter a new season and assume everything and everyone from the previous season is supposed to come with us. But what if they aren’t? What if making room for your next season means letting something or someone go?
