Trump's Kristallnacht

Fáilte Welcome to The Village Oak Tree I’m your host, Terrance Ó Domhnaill. Thank you for joining me again this week. In this first week of imolc, the Gaelic celebration of the return of Spring, I want to offer a comparison of sorts, between the U.S. in 2026 and Germany starting from the 1920’s to when Hitler decided to start invading other countries. In comparing the U.S. under Trump 2.0 now, to what the Nazis took over a decade to accomplish, Trump is racing to do it all within his current term. I’m not the only one to talk about this over the last year since Trump and his crew started their rampage but the latest events in the news made me want to lay this out. They’re not mirror images exactly, but the parallels are pretty hard to ignore. So, gather round, sit you down somewhere comfortable for a bit and let me air my thoughts about all of this for you. If I say the things we’re thinking out loud, maybe more of us will be emboldened to speak out more. Join me at www.crann-na-beatha.com for more

The Myth that the U.S. Military is the best in the World Dispelled.

Fáilte Welcome to The Village Oak Tree I’m your host, Terrance Ó Domhnaill. Thank you for joining me again this week. What a week. Between the massive cold and snow/ice storm and the execution style murder last Saturday by ICE in Minneapolis, I picked out some news stories and independent op eds from around the world this week that I’m going to try and help make some sense out of. At this point, I’ve lost all respect for the U.S. government now and the sooner Trump is gone, the sooner the world can start breathing normally again. So, gather round, sit you down somewhere comfortable for a bit and let me dispel some of the myth about the great U.S. military, and other news that few are talking about. A Small History Lesson to maybe Explain why the U.S. has a Donald Trump Now

Note: There is adult language in this week’s episode of The Priest. Fáilte Welcome to The Village Oak Tree I’m your host, Terrance Ó Domhnaill. Thank you for joining me again this week. This week, I offer up a small bit of American history and a call to action, in order to stop all of the madness. I will try not to sound like a high school history teacher but I think this short lesson is important for people to understand a little bit about how the Americans have arrived at this point in their history So, gather round, sit you down somewhere comfortable for a bit and let me tell you some stories and ask you to make yourselves a bit uncomfortable with a call to protest against the tyranny that’s threatening our very lives in the U.S. Visit with me at www.crann-na-beartha.com for more.

The War Against ICE

Fáilte Welcome to The Village Oak Tree I am your host, Terrance Ó Domhnaill. Thank you for joining me again this week. In the last week, the United States has started to become that pariah state I mentioned a couple of weeks ago. Between publicly coming out and lying about a murdered young woman being a domestic terrorist, declaring the ICE agent who shot her immune from prosecution, before the evidence was presented one way or the other, piracy on the high seas, and more aggressive statements to the world about taking over the governments of Greenland, Cuba and Colombia, Trump is making life in the U.S. a lot harder for the rest of us. So, gather round, sit you down somewhere comfortable for a bit and let’s talk about what this is starting to look like. Visit me at www.crann-na-beatha.com for more.

Cry Havok, Let Loose the Dogs of War

Authors warning: Today’s episode of The Priest has adult language. Fáilte Welcome to The Village Oak Tree I am your host, Terrance Ó Domhnaill. Thank you for joining me again this week. With all of the drama from Trump’s military operation last weekend going on, let’s talk a little bit about the repercussions that few are talking about in the main stream media. I also want to offer up a brief look into society in China these days that their media isn’t telling the world about. So, gather round, sit you down somewhere comfortable for a bit and let’s talk about how all of this is going to affect those of us in the U.S. very soon. Super Flu and Covid, Oh My!

A word of warning. Today’s chapter of The Priest has adult language in it. Fáilte Welcome to The Village Oak Tree I am your host, Terrance Ó Domhnaill. Thank you for joining me. Welcome to the last podcast for 2025 I want to talk about something that’s barely registering in the news these days. That’s this current Super Flu, H3N2, that’s now widespread across the country earlier than normal. The nearly defunct CDC is reporting 4.6 million Super Flu cases, 49000 hospitalizations and 1900 deaths, so far, since September. And this is just the stats from the U.S. So, gather round, sit you down somewhere comfortable for a bit and let’s talk about how this is probably affecting someone you know.

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays with more Mayhem across the Land

Fáilte Welcome to The Village Oak Tree I am your host, Terrance Ó Domhnaill. Thank you for joining me. As we come to the close of another year, according to the Roman calendar, I’m hearing more and more that people are suffering from burnout. A burnout caused by sensationalist news media that hits us every waking moment of our lives nowadays. We’re tired of hearing about economies failing, hearing about thousands of people dying around the world in all manner of ways, and our governments failing us every time we elect someone new to replace the feckless ones that failed us before. Maybe we should take a lesson from Bulgaria where the people just protested large and loudly enough to oust their government. In the U.S., things are starting to reach a fever pitch in a lot of places. Gather round, sit you down somewhere comfortable for a bit and let’s talk about what’s going on that may not be making any headlines where you are. To close out today’s podcast, I have a satirical seasonal poem to read for you from one of my dearest friends.

West Coast Secession? And the Economies of the U.S. and E.U.

Fáilte Welcome to The Village Oak Tree I am your host, Terrance Ó Domhnaill. Thank you for joining me. This is another one of those weeks when I struggle to find something to talk about with all of you. There is so much flooding the media zone right now, that anything I say will sound like just another repeat of the talking heads on the telly. So, I’m going to talk a little about how the U.S. west coast is looking like they’re making some small moves to slide themselves away from Washington D.C. more and more, and the economy as it’s starting to affect everyone except the morbidly wealthy. So, gather round, sit you down somewhere comfortable for a bit and let’s talk about what’s going on that may not be making many headlines where you are.

How Safe are any of us from ICE and CBP anymore?

Fáilte Welcome to The Village Oak Tree I am your host, Terrance Ó Domhnaill. Thank you for joining me. I have so much going on this month, I’m having trouble keeping up, so I’m going to make this a short one this week, sort of. Lately, I’ve been picking up more and more IT gig work from this company I’ve been working for, for the last five years. They want me to take care of corporate computer refreshes and network printer installs out the wazoo lately and I can’t seem to get ahead on my own work. The worst part is, like all gig work, the pay sucks and there’s no benefits. How many of you can relate? This week, I want to touch on a point again about something near and dear to my heart. I know I’ve said this a few times before that I’m married to a foreign born wife, who has a daughter living in another state, also foreign born and these days, I’m constantly worried for their safety. So, gather round, sit you down somewhere comfortable for a bit and let’s talk about what Trump’s latest anti-immigrant foreign policies might mean for people like us.

What Scares you the Most Right Now? The Real Answer Might Surprise You!

Fáilte Welcome to The Village Oak Tree I am your host, Terrance Ó Domhnaill. Thank you for joining me. I’m a bit angry these days as I watch everything collapse around me. I went to a Thanksgiving dinner party last Thursday at the behest of my wife and as usual, there was someone there whom I hadn’t met before, who just had to ask me about my life, just because I’m different, as in not Chinese. I was the only white guy at this party, and also wearing my signature retired Army ball cap. I’ve learned in the past not to try and hide anything from anyone because people just don’t know how to leave others alone. When in an intimate gathering with strangers, they just seem to have this incessant need to want to know everything about people they don’t know. So, in my usual fashion, I answered this gentleman’s questions about myself, without any censorship, which led us down some rabbit holes later in the evening. For which my dear wife admonished me for after we got home. She said I was scaring people. Well, maybe people should be scared. So, gather round, sit you down somewhere comfortable for a bit. Let’s talk about the things that scare us the most these days.
